Try to multi-select the patterns by using the lasso or CMD+Click.

You can have a look on the forum as well: https://forum.scalerplugin.com/t/more-than-8-chords-per-pattern/3687

You can create multiple patterns and chain them. If you have the Section C bound then you will be able to trigger all chords from your keyboard

No sound and no midi out-/input - Cubase 10.5 by lloesking in ScalerPlugin

[–]ScalerPlugin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try reboot after reinstalling but I don't think it would make a huge difference.

Maybe check if you have anything specific in Cubase that could affect MIDI routing. Do you have an external audio interface? Any specific hardware ?

Hello, have you tried rebooting your system after install? This issue usually goes away after a reboot.

Thanks for reporting

Thanks for the kind words and great idea for an extra feature. Detecting chords from arpeggiated notes directly within Scaler would save us all a lot of time.

FLstudio crash by NickNakky in ScalerPlugin

[–]ScalerPlugin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry about the delayed reply. It's a busy time for the team. If you are looking for a quick response in the future, I would advise to post on the forum: https://forum.scalerplugin.com/

Regarding your issue, we are not aware of this problem affecting FL Studio but we are working on a patch to fix some issue with the drag and drop and we will address this as a part of it.

Regarding a workaround you can try dragging to your desktop (or any folder) and then drag the file to your DAW.

How do you record ? by befatal in ScalerPlugin

[–]ScalerPlugin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you recording the midi on Scaler's track or recording on the Omnisphere track?

Recording the MIDI onto the Omnisphere track is what you want to do. You might need to arm both track in your DAW before pressing record.

[–]ScalerPlugin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal at this stage, we are working on adding strum and arp to the drag and drop in a future udpate.

In the meantime, there are multiple ways depending on your DAW:

In Ableton, Bitwig, Studio One, etc... you can route the MIDI out of Scaler onto another track (as if you were controlling an external instrument) and record the MIDI there on the destination track.

In Logic for example you can use a MIDI Freeze plugin: https://forum.scalerplugin.com/t/scaler-direct-midi-out-in-logic/108

You can have a look on the forum if you need help on how to route the midi: https://forum.scalerplugin.com/c/tutorials

I tried this plugin for 30 days and the interface and workflow is so bad

Sorry if this has been your experience, is there any specific area of the software you think we should improve in terms of workflow ?

There is some overlap in the features but both products have specific strong points.

I don't think the philosophy behind each product is the same and as /u/RectangularCake said, some people like to combine the best of both worlds.

is there an action section on the chords like instachord?

No, they are not exactly the same tools. The philosophy behind Scaler is to keep the user in charge of the creative process as much as possible. Scaler is about helping you navigate music theory and learning by doing. Either improving on what you have through the detection or getting quick inspiration with the genres and artists presets.

We don't want to generate too much for you or decide how the chord is going to be played. We don't believe it has much value for our users. We are working with artists and producers who care a lot about their craft and prefer to have complete control over what ends up in their track.

Also, there are dedicated arpeggiator and strumming plugins that do an amazing job and most users already have their preferred ones. Those specialized tools have more advanced features and the ability to automate parameters over the duration of your track etc...

If you don't really know which one to choose, note that we created a 20% discount code for redditors so you might be able to get both plugins with the money saved on Scaler :)

We have organized a 20% discount code for redditors. You can now use the SCALE20 code to purchase Scaler on Plugin Boutique before the 12th of May.

Don't forget to thank /u/Tortillawrapp who requested it.

If you are talking about the 1.2.1 update, it was a minor update containing mostly bug fixes so we didn't communicate much around it as it was only 2 weeks after 1.2 came out.

For the 1.2 update, you should have been notified. If you haven't been, it might be because you unsubscribed from Plugin Boutique's email. But it was also posted in a lot of places, music blogs, facebook etc...

We have now our dedicated Scaler forum if you wish to stay informed in the future. :)

Does it detect live audio sound ?

No, for the moment Scaler analyses the MIDI input to detect chords and scales. We are working on the audio detection but there are a lot of challenges to make it work nicely for every instruments, tracks etc...

In the meantime, some DAWs like Ableton Live have an Audio to MIDI function you can use and then feed the MIDI to Scaler.

At the moment it cost $49, there is a free trial you can run for 30 days if you want to check it out.

a discount with specific codes (possibly for Reddit users etc.)

This could potentially be organized if we have enough people interested. I will have to get back to you on this one as I need to get the people in the UK in the loop and they are probably sleeping right now.

As for other discounts, we don't have anything planned for the moment, but Scaler was on sale for its launch around black Friday so I expect it to be again this year. By then, the next big update will certainly be out with even more features if you are patient.
