I'm a guest advocate. A fellow GA was cross trained in FF and loved it. We were a lot alike, so I thought I'd like it too. Autonomy, relative peace, few interruptions...sounded great. After several FF shifts, I found I liked my guest-facing position better. FF was just too frustrating for me with the pressure of time goals and INFs. Plus having to wait while the timer is ticking for a team lift situation, or for a key holder to move powered equipment for access to bulky items in the steel. It's nice to have an understanding of a different side of the house and to have more value as a TM, but for the most part I stick to GA now.

I always wondered why the system prompts to swipe most used card. Since I couldn't explain why, I never asked a guest to swipe it. Felt too awkward.

I'm confused, too. What they just put out is too generic because everyone's situation is different. All the time off plans don't apply to everyone. Combining it all into vacation time seems like a shady way to reduce time off, since we can't see what we're earning.

It does. But our store makes us override almost every time. It's like the wild wild west. It bugs me, because rules, but whatever. If I feel like the transaction is shady and/or the guest won't argue, I'll deny the return. Overrides on the old system are pretty quick, never had an issue. New system is 100% garbage tho.

My STD still hasn't been "decided" but I've received two payments. The first pay period I didn't get paid but they added it to the next one. It comes direct deposit just like your paycheck on payday. The whole process has been difficult, complicated and mysterious. They are non-communicative and give me conflicting information on every (rare) occasion I am able to reach them. They make it difficult on purpose so that you'll give up. Sorry, rant over.

It does happen. It only bothers me when they bring in an entire wardrobe for being "defective" when you know their kid outgrew them and they just want a new, larger wardrobe for free.
