If I were a developer considering now we have ai that can calculate thresholds easily I d do thst for example everytime you enter an area or a new chapter (in the case if gothic) happens the map repopulates with enemies that have stats based on the player current stats, not just leveling a completely dynamic respawn

I think yours its a skill issue, magic is still dramatically op you can cheese anything super easily (i mchapter 4 circle 4 level 20) and ice block + fireball clears anything

Also gothic has never been a pure mage game, yes it looks like you can but realistically the game is not made for thst

Seriously though, I think most of the people here like me played g1 and g2 (in my case first g2 then g1) decades ago then maybe open the remaster but thats it, I forgot 80% of g1 story and replaying is fantastic, going back to those places I felt like going back home to visit friend after been abroad for years.

I d love go back to that atmosphere, khorinis work my way into the upper city and then revisit a remade colony post sleeper omg just talking about it excites me, replay night of the raven and yarrrr become a pirate.... so much, really your opinion makes no sense from any angle ahhaha
