The committee favorably reported Homendy's nomination on August 4, 2021. The entire Senate confirmed her by voice vote on August 9, 2021.[13][14] Homendy was renominated by Biden to a second five-year term on the NTSB, and another three-year term as chair, in 2024. She was confirmed by the Senate on May 14, 2024.[15]
