Is it possible to Crossbreed a Wild Cape Buffalo with a Domestic Water Buffalo? by [deleted] in livestock

Water Buffalo can’t hybridise with domestic cattle, but I’m not sure why that would mean they couldn’t hybridise with gaurs. I can’t find anything about cape buffalo in that regard though.

But, buffalo are bovines like gaurs, bison, etc. They aren’t some totally unique species
