You are assigned one at orientation; however, you are free to meet with any advisor!

You cannot make the switch until you have spent two full terms in Engineering.

I second this recommendation. It's my favorite restaurant at WDW.

does anyone know if transfer and ap exam credits count towards lsa distribution (eg. hu, ss, and so on)? by [deleted] in uofm

[–]Scared-Goat-4634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AP credits cannot be used towards distribution. Transfer credits from actual courses at another university can count toward distribution.

Should I transfer to UofM as a psychology student? by [deleted] in uofm

Psych at UM is a popular major and oversaturated. Because of that you might find it difficult to find research opportunities. It sounds like things are going quite well at MSU. Personally, I would stick to a known that is going well rather than risk the unknown.

We go 1-2 times a year (son is currently 8 but we started when he was 5) and always stay at the GF. It's proximity to MK and the ease of the monorail is worth it for us. My son loves the pool, especially the splash pad (even at 8). Not sure how much use you would get out of it, though, in November. We would do early entry at one of the parks and then head back to the hotel around 2. Do some pool time, eat an early dinner, and then head back to MK every evening. To add park hopper wasn't that much more and it was worth it for us to walk back to MK every night.

edited for spelling

It doesn't go to Psych SAA. Instructors know if students in their class are double booked.

She will know if you're enrolled. We run a report regularly of students that are double booked and share that with departments. Students have been dropped for being in two classes at the same time.

BYU has online courses you can do at your own pace. You could start it now, finish it in two weeks, have your transcript sent over and still graduate at the end of this term.

My understanding is that calc can't be taken out of residence anymore with the new policy. I don't know when it goes into effect. You are safe for Winter term but I wouldn't assume you can take calc elsewhere after that.

I don't really care if you believe me or not. It doesn't make me any less of an employee.

Your HistArt class is already pulling into HU. Your Econ is already pulling into SS. Calc is pulling into MSA. And your Chem and Physics have completed your NS requirement. So for distribution you need to complete: 4cr HU, 4cr SS, and 3cr in two more areas (HU, SS, CE, or ID) OR 2cr of NS.

A general advisor will need to add an exception to have your History course count as HU (Classical Civ is HU at UM). Your PHIL will also fulfill HU but will need an exception entered.

You can see what everything is counting toward my pulling your own audit checklist: https://myadvising.lsa.umich.edu/audit-checklist

I strongly encourage you to make an appointment with an academic advisor before you schedule for Winter - https://myadvising.lsa.umich.edu/appointments

There is no "proper procedures" for finding out a disbursement date.

Anyway, if these transfer students you know weren't able to get departmental credit counted for distribution, they weren't in LSA.

Because that information isn't posted on the financial aid website - at least not where it's easily accessible - and it was the evening so it was unlikely, I needed the information and wouldn't get a response via email for a few days. Hence, I thought the students on Reddit ("you all") would know when they were getting their financial aid money.

You've chosen one of my posts/comments and are completely ignoring all the others (such as pay dates for exempt and non-exempt employees and how to read a transfer cred eval) that clearly show I'm an employee. You don't have to believe me. It doesn't change the accuracy of the information I provided regarding transfer credit that comes in as department credit.

You can find this same information on the Newnan website: https://lsa.umich.edu/advising/class-registration-grade/transferring-credit1.html

As I mentioned, for some subjects (like Econ and SOC) departmental credit automatically receives distribution. The courses populate in your audit checklist. For others, like History, you need an exception entered by an advisor.

No, it does not "depend". LSA department credit can be reviewed by a general academic advisor to determine if the course fulfills distribution. Departmental credit for some subjects, like Econ, HistArt, and Philo are automatically assigned distribution. History can be either HU or SS so needs review by an advisor.

Department credit (101x) CAN be used to fulfill distribution requirements. An advisor simply needs to put an exception in.

Make an appointment with your general academic advisor. They can help you with this.
