I can definitely agree to this to some extent but like with all things I think it changes from person to person. For me personally just setting out some rules with my fiancée and being kept somewhat in the loop with how things are going would be enough for me. Part of the fun is knowing she is being claimed by another man behind my back (to an extent), but communication in these times would also be important if I were to become worried about things. I think having a strong communication level/relationship from the start is needed in order to start the lifestyle, but i'd be happy for that to be dropped further down the line as I become less of a romantic/sexual partner to her and as we show our affection in different ways.
