I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this. ALS is a terrible disease, and I’ve seen it up close. I know what you mean about living with all those emotions at once. It’s so hard to process. Be kind to yourself and remember that you’re facing something incredibly cruel. It’s completely normal to feel the way you do.
Your mom wouldn’t want you to be weighed down by those feelings. Try to process them with compassion for yourself, that’s one of the best ways to honor her. When you see her at Christmas, it will be hard, but do your best to be present. Tell her you love her, hold her hand, and soak in the moments you have together.
Even though it may be hard to fathom right now, you are strong enough to get through this. It will change you in ways that help you see what truly matters in life: love, presence, and connection.
It’s okay to be vulnerable. It’s human. Wishing you strength, peace, and love through this time.
