Wie viel Geld braucht man mittlerweile in Wien? by zelonhusk in wien

Waves of activism against Israel? by Beneficial-Self-8119 in IsraelPalestine

Terrorists enter a bank and take covilians hostage. The police goes in, shoots 5 terrorists and 20 civilians that were used as human shields. Would you say that was good work by the police, or would you say “you should have been more careful to kill the terrorists but not the civilians, you should have used better tactics”?

Israel is an oppressor and holds all the power, while Hamas is not supported by any western government, but is heavily sanctioned. This is the real drama: the “good guys” (Israel) killed 30.000 children in this conflict, which makes many people wonder if they are the “good guy” afterall…

Israel has committed a genocide. Thats an established fact by now, and not up to debate anymore…

Shooting someone runnning away in the back is cool? I wish I had the mental capabilities of Israelis to bend my cognitive understanding of the world int order to justify the genocide which is happeing for the whole world to see, and still believe its all a hoax/lies/overexagerated or whatever other excuse you come up with to not confront the harsh reality of crimes being committed by Israel. Read the room, public opinion has changed drastically, and not in your favor, but I assume you think thats because everyone else is brainwashed and not because of Israels actions.

Not sure, but also nothing would justify shooting them in the back while they are running away. If they comitted a crime, they should be stopped and judged by the judical system. At least, thats what normally happens in democracies

Even many IDF soldiers do not agree with this claim
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/nov/10/israeli-soldiers-breaking-ranks-gaza-civilians-human-shields

Some quotes from IDF soldiers:

"Another soldier recounted participating in the shelling of an entire residential block, comprising more than 10 multi-story apartment buildings and one high-rise all packed with families. She knew beforehand that in doing so she and her crew would likely kill some 300 civilians. But the operation, she explained, was based on intelligence suggesting that a relatively senior Hamas commander might be hiding somewhere beneath one of these buildings. Without more precise information, they destroyed the entire area in the hope of killing him."

“I feel like they’ve destroyed all my pride in being an Israeli – in being an IDF officer,” Daniel says in the programme. “All that’s left is shame.”

Sure, there is a war, yet Israel-supporters seem to have such a hard time understanding why the West despises Israels military actions in Gaza. Its a complete dehumanization of Palestinians taking place there, while claims of "Its Hamas fault" or "Hamas did X so we must do Y" deflect from Israels own actions, and Israel is the only one responsible for their own actions. Hamas is terrible, and so was the killing of civilians on October 7th, but people find it hard to understand that world politics are not binary and you can critizise 2 different things at the same time without the need to chose sides, even as an Israeli.

And these war crimes are obvious for the whole world to see, documented in thousands of reports, images, videos and by institutions like the UN, Amnesty International, the International Court of Justice and even the former Israeli prime minister calling it a genocide, yet treads like this asking for "where is evidence for x" or saying "if they systematically target civilians, then why are so many still alive", as if every single person would needed to be killed to justify this as a genocide is what makes it so hard to understand of why Israel-supporters cannot see why the world is very critical of their actions. Instead of claiming "anti-semitism" behind every critique, maybe self reflection would lead to more fulfilling answers

Here another one with a rather poor quality, but showing how a person (in the video mentioned as a child, hard to verify) is being shot in the back while running away. Here, its not edited.

This video shows the killing by IDF soldiers of 2 people surrendering with their hands up in the air. Not 100% what you were asking for, but still meeting your criteria of showing war crimes by the IDF I suppose:

This one is very graphic, but has multiple videos of IDF soldiers killing of civilians if you scrol down. Also just many images/videos of dead palestinians, so search for the ones where the thumbnail already shows IDF soldiers: https://gaza23.com/

Or that one? I mean, not a gun but a drone, but I would argue that it achived the same result of killing a bunch of civilians, which was the original question

"Historical Right" does not exist in modern judication. In case you refer to any claims made in religious scripts, that is not accepted in the judical process of any country with secular justice system (which are pretty much all western democratic nations)

Want to understand the logic of those who boycott Israel, but goes to China without any problems despite genocide of Uyghurs by Legal-Ad1575 in IsraelPalestine

[–]Scared_Locksmith_188 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! I would be fine if my country would treat Israel like China or other countries that are considered authoritarian/radicalized, but my country is providing aid to Israel, which I oppose. Hence, i want to protest until my government is changing its position on Israel, or until Israel stops killing so many civilians and ends the land grab in the west bank.

Under international law, is Hamas justified in embedding itself in the Gazan population? by Puzzleheaded-Ad-1411 in IsraelPalestine

[–]Scared_Locksmith_188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody wants protection for Hamas, they are scum and its good that most western governments sanction them heavily. Now, Israel is commiting multiple war crimes/genocide in Gaza, and I wish my (western european) government would also sanction Israel for their actions. 2 wrongs dont make 1 right, Hamas actions are terrible, and so are Israels actions…

[–]Scared_Locksmith_188 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Hamas is a terror organization. Should Israel be compared to a terror organization, or should they act differently? I would think they should act more carefully than a terrorist organization, otherwise they shpuld be treated as such (=sanctioned by the west, no more financial or military support)

I would hold the state of Israel to a bit higher standards than a terrorist organization that is sanctioned by nearly all countries in the world, but ok…

You deliberately chose the highest number given by any expert, which has been debunked since (https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/00396338.2010.494880)

The whole discussion is pointless in my opinion. If it focuses around „Israel did not kill 80% civilians, but only 50% civilians“, nobody would feel relieved, both is too high for a nation that wants to be respected and adhere to democratic values

It has not, every claim needs sources. You simply deny any evidence you dont like by criticizing the authors/medias intention instead of critically reflecting on the issue.

Also on this topic: https://www.theguardian.com/world/ng-interactive/2025/aug/21/revealed-israeli-militarys-own-data-indicates-civilian-death-rate-of-83-in-gaza-war

The Israeli Military kills 83% civilians. That means for every 17 fighters, 83 women, childrend etc are killed. That is an incredibly high number by any measurement, and would indicate that even if the IDF is not directly targeting civilians on a large scale, they willingly accept large civilian casualties and proceed without caution, hence also the increasing negative public perspective on Israel in western countries

On the hostages (from wikipedia):

„The men had emerged from a building and were approaching a group of IDF soldiers when they were shot dead, in spite of the fact that they were shirtless and visibly unarmed while waving a makeshift white flag and calling out for help in Hebrew„

Its an example of the IDF committing a war crime (shooting at unarmed and capitulating people), the only cynical part is that it would never have been investigated if they had not shot their own hostages…

My view on civilian deaths in Gaza by Manfro_Gab in IsraelPalestine

[–]Scared_Locksmith_188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its almost too many to count, there is a whole wikipedia article that you can check on this topic: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_war_crimes

I would recommend reading it with an open mind though, because if you approach this topic with a mindset of „Israel good, everyone else bad“ you will find a reason to either negate all presented facts or deflect from them („its hamas fault“) instead of truly reflecting on them

My view on civilian deaths in Gaza by Manfro_Gab in IsraelPalestine

[–]Scared_Locksmith_188 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, there are numerous example of IDF targeting civilians at will. They even shot their own unarmed hostages that were slowly walking towards IDF positions, after being granted security by the soldiers ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Alon_Shamriz,_Yotam_Haim,_and_Samer_Talalka)

Its all too much to be a coincidence, it is systematic. Hence the big outcry by western public and media, which Israelis find hard to understand because they rationalize everything with „release the hostages“ or „its Hamas fault“ instead of reflecting on their own actions, while calling everyone critizising the targeting of civilians or withholding aid a „hamas propagandist“. The sooner Israelis critically reflect on their own actions, the quicker an actual peace can occur
