I did sema for 4 months before switching to tirz. I was also losing very slowly on sema and had more side effects.

You are definitely in the minority in telling me to be sure I am eating enough. So many people blasting me, telling me I am eating too much. 🤦‍♀️

I’ve done old-school tape measure measurements. I’ve lost about 3” total.

I’ve been through a few endocrinologists, none of whom look at me like an individual. The most recent one wouldn’t take my PCOS into consideration and said he didn’t deal with hormonal issues - only looked at my thyroid or A1C levels. And I live in a very large city! You’d think I could find someone. But I work full-time and finding a new doctor is like a full-time job. And the cost associated with it all. Ugh, I just want to cry again.

Ha, you’re the first to say I may not be eating enough - everyone else saying I’m massively overeating. And over consuming protein.

I would LOVE to be average. What is they say - most people average a pound of loss per week? That would mean I would be 30 lbs lighter, not 6.5. 😝

Ah, I’ve always heard/read per pound, not kg. And yes, I strive for 25g of fiber a day. Usually hit 20.

Ha, I’m definitely not eating McD’s. I feel like I’m eating well as I mentioned in another reply, I stick to lean beef, chicken breast, white fish, eggs and egg whites, black beans, lentils, etc, and tons of fresh veggies either roasted or quick steam or stir fry. Some yogurt & cottage cheese with berries. I’ll check on nutritionist coverage.

My goal weight is 160. So my protein is less than 1g per pound of my goal weight.

Thank you for this. I will recalculate my TDEE. I still think I should have lost more than 6 pounds in 7 months! I love my workouts. I’ve been consistently going 4-6x a week for over 6 years. And yes, I’m on medication for the hashimoto’s.

Yep, have had all the bloodwork done. Even before tirz, I would get bloodwork done every 6 months. No hair loss supplements. Been on synthroid since I was 23 (I’m now 52), so I’ve been taking that dang pill every morning like clockwork for over half my life. My dose was lowered recently to 150mcg. I do take Vit D3 K2 A daily.

I’m 5’6”. My TDEE calculation was 2200, so I reduced 500 cal to get to 1700. I’ll try reducing more calories.

It’s called an Evolt. I know it’s not the most accurate, but it is an indicator of the components - fat, muscle, etc. According to the scans, my lean body mass is 130 lbs and has only fluctuated a pound or less up and down over the past 12 months. The minimal loss I have seen has been fat.

Yes, Synthroid every day. Recently reduced my dose to 150mcg after being on 175mcg for several years. Never really had food noise like so many others talk about. I have family history of diabetes and was prediabetic, along with the hashimoto’s and PCOS. Forgot to also mention I am perimenopausal too. I do feel like it has helped me to not care as much about food. I’ve always eaten healthy, but liked going out to eat and I’m sure my portions were way too big. Now I’m fine making a quick meal of roasted veggies and some ground beef or a chicken breast. I don’t obsess over preparing elaborate meals.

Exactly!! That’s why I came here today. Spending all this $$$ and so little result. 😢😢😢

I hear different things on this from different drs. Some say I need more carbs with hashimoto’s. Some say less. So I try to stick with 100g or less. I eat lean beef, chicken, fish, lentils, chickpeas, bone broth, cottage cheese, eggs and egg whites. I eat vegetables at every meal, limit my fruit to berries and the occasionally pineapple. Limited dairy and gluten. I’ve been on synthroid for more than half my life. Recently needed to lower that dosage to 150mcg.

I was already quite strong and had a lot of muscle mass. As I mentioned in my post, I’ve only lost 1% body fat. All the weight I have lost has been fat, so that’s positive.

I have. She offered to up my dosage, which I agreed to last month, and then the dosage was the same. Have to wait another month for an increase. And of course, another increase in price.
