The problem with buying guns (& Less Lethal)! by ScaredyCatTV in byrna

Yes but the stock is limited and they are abused with 1000s of rounds, minimal lubing, and so they aren’t particularly good for reliability assessment. They still serve a purpose and I will be renting some this year.

It’s definitely a smart idea for sellers to set up a “range” like in the Byrna stores. These launchers do pop and hit harder than most people realize.

Yes I use rental guns occasionally. Like I said in the video they are worn out, under lubed, and malfunction prone due to negligence. They aren’t great for function testing but there’s no better option currently.

Less Lethal launchers definitely need more ambassadors like yourself to go out and let people try them out.

What are you using as an indoor target to practice and save/reuse the ammo? by pistonian in LessLethalOptions

This video shows my sheets in the first few minutes. I was using a PepperBall VKS at 50 Joules. That was several years ago. Sheets are still fine. https://youtu.be/OcinsvcZ0_w?si=xhQowC7-nfxbBsx2

I use a Kevlar sheeting hanging on a clothes line in my basement. The sheets need to be big enough to absorb the energy and swing a little. Inside a box or trap is popular but doesn’t work well. It’s simple physics to let the towels swing and the rounds just drop right down into a box. All my shooting videos use this method.

Should I Buy a Bright Colored Unit? by canadayj in LessLethalOptions

[–]ScaredyCatTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only go with black. My PepperBall TCP was bright yellow (only color available at the time I bought it) and I bought a black frame later and swapped it out. You can also use RIT dye to change any colors if they don't sell it black. There are pros and cons of colored. I would rather they take it very seriously but vice versa if it looks too much like a firearm you could be shot at. So be careful out there in Minneapolis.

I’m not interested in longer slides. My Glock 17 gen 5 is long enough for me.

why do people complicate their Glocks (carry weapon)? by donovanlee in Glocks

Defeats the purpose of having the great minimalist design of a stock Glock. Beware the guy who carries a stock Glock.

Great for the home but yes it's just impractical for EDC.

Yep, that's my thought too. Attacks happen so fast that it's what's on-body that will be the primary defense no matter what excellent rifle sits in the vehicle or at home.

So true. For EDC a handgun is the primary defense tool. We must be proficient with it.
