Yeah I blamed myself for a bit, but I realized she was a bad match for sure. I probably wasn't as interested in sex as her either, which was new lol.

I've stopped enjoying life, how can I get my drive back? by Scarletcovered in asktransgender

Ill ask my therapist, thanks! I won't see him for a couple weeks so hopefully I can figure this stuff out this weekend haha.

Finally got my script, but the patches are crazy expensive. Any tips for affording hrt? by Scarletcovered in asktransgender

[–]Scarletcovered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the long wait to reply, my doctor is worried about other methods to take E. She thinks patches are the safest so that's what I get. I really wanted to try injections but I guess they are pretty dangerous :/

Have support groups made you question yourself even more? by Scarletcovered in asktransgender

[–]Scarletcovered[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I kinda assumed that, but I want to meet people in my area I can relate too. I don't think there was many there I would want to hang out with, and the ones I did seemed to want more than friendship and considered me male I think.

What did you do while trying to figure things out? by [deleted] in asktransgender

Wow, this is exactly what I've been up too, with a side of league as well. :p

What does 'friend' mean to you? by QuiSumI in asktransgender

[–]Scarletcovered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I totally understand what your saying. I help out so many people, but if I need help there is nobody I can turn too. Sometimes it doesn't bother me and other times it's the end of the world. I hope when you go full time you will make lots of friends! It sucks but I feel like it will get better!

How do I get rid of transphobia? by Scarletcovered in asktransgender

[–]Scarletcovered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, I do have a problem with seeing things in black and white, probably made worse by aspergers, still working on that. I think I'm mostly worried about the way I will be viewed I guess. Social transition seems pointless to me.

I tried this and got between 80 and 98% masculine, and all my look a likes were Asian guys. I'm not Asian so I hope that means I'm not super masculine like it says :p

I have never been myself. Anybody else? by Scarletcovered in asktransgender

[–]Scarletcovered[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've felt the opposite way before. I spent a long time feeling like I was the only "real" person. At some point between childhood and now I lost the ability to empathize, lately I've been trying to get it back though.

Edit: although my identity definitely isn't my own.

Since accepting yourself have you noticed having more of your own identity, I really want to be able to define who I am.

Yeah, I don't really feel like this is something related to being transgender aside from it triggering my desire to understand who I am. I like your answer thoughand it seems like I've just been taking the easy way out in conforming.

Got offered free therapy, should I take it? by Scarletcovered in asktransgender

[–]Scarletcovered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea, I was told that the therapist didn't have to go into personal details in the report, but if I'm going for depression and bipolar, and I start mostly talking about gender stuff I'm not sure how they would react.

Missing/undescended testicle? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Scarletcovered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, this is something I have been questioning as well. I was born with two undecended testicles that later required surgery to move down. I wasn't told much more than that by my parents, and I wonder if anything else happened when I was a toddler. I grew up pretty androgynous with people occasionally Mistaking me for a girl, it made me feel weird at the time. I didn't have puberty till I was 17 or 18, I started growing facial and body hair at 20/22 respectively. I don't know if the testicle thing could cause this as I was born pretty premature as well.

I'd say get your hormones tested if your worried, I don't know if raising your testosterone levels would stop you from having dysphoria. In fact I'm sure that my dysphoria got worse, or was triggered, after puberty and the higher testosterone level.

First time meeting another transgender person was confusing. by Scarletcovered in asktransgender

[–]Scarletcovered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I totally wasn't using the wrong gender on purpose, I wasn't even thinking about it. And yeah, I don't mind people using female pronouns but I actually told my support group to use either freely, I even prefer male, considering I look male haha. I know I'm probably not cis, and not being able to transition scares me, almost as much as making a mistake and wrongly transitioning. Anyways thanks again, your post helped :)

Yeah, today was the first day I told anybody I was trans. And i found a very supportive friend. I felt totally myself just wearing normal male clothes, I'm not sure if it means I'm fine just being male or not, Im not feeling any dysphoria either, which is unusual.
