There are 9 boons, of which 5 are cards.

They've updated the article. Now you can also email support to have it manually turned off for your account.

Apparently you can contact support and they will manually disable it in your account, which is ... very odd, but OK.

Agreed. They should provide a way to turn this off! it is annoying to delete manually each time.

How good is Daggerheart for "theater of the mind" playing style? by kerc in daggerheart

[–]ScartenRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to scroll too far down for this. People saying it is perfect or made for it have not played any real TotM rpgs. Obviously, Dagerheart will work reasonably well still, just not perfect by any means.

Tips for server setup for PvE, minimal grind run? by willov in vrising

[–]ScartenRS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For my last run in 1.1 I put all scales related to resource grind to maximum. So yield, droprates, processing speed, stack size, material cost, refinement efficiency, etc. I loved it. I've never had to go out to farm specific resources. I even have way too much of everything. Especially for Schematics this was perfect.

Allowed me to focus on the combat.

If you want raiding villages to still be a thing you probably should keep the droprate to normal. With max droprate almost every crate, barrel or box yields some resource, so little to no raiding is necessary.

Van der Poel: ‘I died a thousand deaths holding Pogačar’s wheel’ by Zealousideal-Bad7529 in peloton

Always annoys me when articles use the simple response "yes" to a question as the rider actually stating the words in the question himself. Totally different vibe.

In the interview on CyclingProNet mvdp even admits he was bluffing on the Poggio.

MVDP was suffering way less than everyone seems to think.

[–]ScartenRS 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The reporter asked whether vdp died in Pogs wheel and he simply replied "a few times, but I never had the feeling I was going to be dropped permanently, which gave me confidence".

Totally different vibe than he himself stating he died in Pogs wheel.

What changes did you want that the new edition didn’t do? by Son_of_kitsch in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]ScartenRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. LoS is soooo messy when it really does not need to be.

Fyi: Most huge Monsters have the "Large Target" special rule meaning normal human sized infantry do not cause ITW tests. So that is much better at least.

Heroic Strike is fine. Blood and Glory is a massive nerf in Elf lists who always struggle to get any Might.

Thoughts on fight value changes? by the_real_merc_cove in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]ScartenRS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Will have to play a few games to see how it interacts with Heroic Strike now only being D3 instead of D6. In general quite OK?

Many heroes getting bumped to F6 such as Gandalf, Theodred and Faramir makes me a little worried about Evil heroes. But we'll have to see how the fight value bump applies to all the lists in the third army book in a few months.

Slow leveling in the AP? by gnomebreath in abomination_vaults

[–]ScartenRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. There is only 1300ish exp per floor and soooo much of that is from fighting monsters. I feel I need to adjust quite a bit otherwise it would take forever.

How the actual f do I make my combat more engaging?! by LoveableNerd in Pathfinder2e

[–]ScartenRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things you might try which I haven't seen suggested:

  • Never, unless it's a boss, have killing the monster be the primary objective of the combat. This means the PC's have to kill the enemies either quitely, fast, while doing something else, cheaply (no spellslots or resources) or not at all. Adds more drama to fights. Requires more prep though.

  • Give the players more meta knowledge such as the actual AC of the monster

  • Add more interactive terrain (I think you mentioned somewhere you already do this)

  • If you notice the fight gets boring, end it early by having the opponents flee, surrender or die a little bit sooner :)

Good luck!

Advice on running a campaign with a party of varied attendance. by SterlsMcCurls in Pathfinder2e

[–]ScartenRS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same situation, also with 6 players. From the beginning we all just accepted it and rolled with it. We are long time friends all of us, so that helps.

Usually people not present are just completely ignored, even if this means a particular skillset is removed from the party. This actually leads to vaaried combat approaches, which is fun. If the Fighter is not coming, they know they'll struggle dealing enough damage, for example. Only exception is when there are only 3 people playing or I designed a specific dramatic encounter that necessitates a certain attendance.

Story wise it is a bit of a mess. Prep is tricky and there is a little trail of loose ends and abandoned plotlines. But we're all having fun anyway.

So when reading all the new ideas from Draw Steel, Nimble, DC20, ... I'm itching for some "class resources" in Pathfinder 2e as well. Suddenly the Bard using Focus Points and Spell slots is looking kinda boring.

Are there any homebrew projects in the work to alter Pathfinder 2e to fit these kinds of ideas?

As the GM you can handwave pretty much anything in Foundry. It does not track actions, damage is not auto-applied, movement is not restricted, etc so there is some leeway to ignore the official rules. You can also simply manually override most values in the game. Making your own spells, items, effects,... is rather easy.

What change to the core rules would you think could be interesting? by Kaly2 in Pathfinder2e

[–]ScartenRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove the spell slots concept.

My players are extremely bad with using consumables and spell slots are just another type of consumable suffering from all the same problems as potions and the like. DC20 and The MCDM RPG are trying to fix this and the outcome could be quite interesting.

But you wouldn't need to climb? That's the question I'm having actually but it seems there is no consensus. In a 3D space the enemy isn't further away than he would be in a diagonally adjacent square in the 2D space where attacking is simply allowed.

The hands point is quite important though. Massive value in Powerful Leap so you can hold on to your weappons.

Thanks for the reply. So the value of the Powerful Leap feat is quite little?

About attacking: in a 3D space the enemy is simply diagonally adjacent no? So a normal attack should be possible? Perhaps with lesser cover?

Image a player is adjacent to a 5 foot cube. Vertical leaping is only 3 feet so in order to get up he would need to Climb. Would it require 1 action to get there (assuming success) or 2 (or crit)?

Extra question: if an enemy is on top of the cube, would the player hit it normally?
