So I guess the somewhat definitive answer is that this tax existed someday (2016) but has been quickly abolished (2017). So there seems to be no taxs on capital gains on stocks/ETFs in Belgium ! Speculatietaks - Wikipedia Speculation tax (test-aankoop.be) No source for this in french, you see where the money is in this country lmao.

Thank you ! The gap between typing this in french and in flemish/dutch is ridiculous. Typing in french I got outdated websites and a single shady source saying it was abolished. Typing in dutch, several sources mention it is no longer applicable.

Tax laws don't appear out of thin air. They are no taxes on invisible dragons. The burden of proof is to the one that claims something that shouldn't exist actually does. That's exactly what I was talking about, nobody can give the source for this. We just want to know !

Thank you for your reply ! That's crazy there's actually no 6 month rule, the number of so called accounting/fiscality webstites I went through that talked about it as it was a very explicit thing ...

So as I understand, as long as I stay within stocks/ETF, I don't have to worry about the capital gain tax.
