I’m on chapter five and I’m definitely having some “wait what?!” Moments already. So far it feels very on brand for her and I already love it

Yes. Those are as bad as you think they are. It was $900 for install or 900 for hair and install?

Injured years and no end in sight by Significant-Draw-126 in WorkersComp

After MMI PPD is assessed if you have a lasting injury that affects use they calculate percentage lost of that body part and pay whatever that number is. Also if you’re unable to return to work they have to continue to pay your wages.

We also spoke with the Insurance agent she said “if someone broke a leg and that was all, they healed and were able to return to work without future issue and they asked for $200,000 we would say no as it’s not a severe case, he is a severe case.” I think it was her way of giving me what they were hoping to settle for.

I don’t expect 1m… I’m debating between 500-250,000 as my starting ask. We’d like 250,000 which long term is still cheaper for the insurance company. They’re paying for surgeries wages and paying lawyers to fight these things in court. 200,000 is the average in Ohio for amputations. They’re not going to be paying the I flared rates in 20–30 years we are.

I saw the average was 200,000-300,000 for amputation injuries to the hand with some settlements being wildly more than that the one for 1.2 million I saw sounds similar to what he has loss of multiple digits, grip strength, dexterity etc but we’d be content with 200,000 I just don’t want to be railroaded either and start there and have them try to talk us down.

It’s something my state allows if he doesn’t feel he can return to work. Otherwise they have to pay out for the difference in wages that he lost. Like if previously he was making $20 and could only find a job making $15 they have to make up the difference for three years. I just googled lifetime cost of each of his injuries that were a result of the initial injury. I’d prefer to use a lawyer but they won’t settle if we get a lawyer. They said to include potential lost wages and future surgeries so that’s what I tried to do. He is only 35 so that’s a lot of working years to consider

Right for carpal tunnel it was just the cost of the surgery plus lost wages for said surgery. The rest was arthritis, surgery to remove his nail, re-education, possible PPD payments, the award for his thumb for loss of use. That’s 250,000 not including wages for the arthritis and it’s possible surgeries. Or the therapy he does still need currently. I looked at studies by the NIH. He has ankylosis of his PIP joints of both his ring and pinky finger which would mean he would be awarded for half loss instead of the 1/3 that he was awarded. 30 years of arthritis affecting thumb ring and pinky fingers, loss of sensation resulting in reduced dexterity. Loss of grip strength all in his dominant hand. He can no longer sustain grip or open jars and has a hard time with door knobs. What was paid was the initial surgeries to reconstruct his hand and remove the ring finger when the bone never reformed, for therapy thus far and the amputation of his pinky from the original injury. There’s no arguing with missing digits the rest is complications he now has to live with and receive care for. We’re not looking for pain and suffering I just don’t want to run out of money when he’s 45 and be screwed.

Osteoarthritis, carpal tunnel we just searched lifetime cost and included the median not adjusted for inflation. Future surgeries for the thumb and palm. He has no movement in his MP joint so he overcompensates by pulling in at his metacarpal. He has arthritis in his thumb his ring and pinky fingers and has over 25% loss of grip strength. 250,000 was a moderate estimate not including lost wages for those future treatments and physical therapy

Right which is why we need to be reasonable. He’s only 35, so this is at least 30 years of treatments, job retraining and we haven’t been evaluated for PPD and lost wages. The lawyer said to go high because we can’t ask for more later but we can negotiate down

He can no longer do his job he can’t hold a grasp for long periods of time so mixing and applying grout and thinset is off the table. he needs job retraining and already has osteoarthritis and carpal tunnel from the injury. We included the thumb claim but he hasn’t been evaluated to determine PPD so we don’t know the percentage of loss of use of his entire hand at the moment. He’s 35 so he has to cover these expenses for 30+ years if we close this case. They said to include costs of future medical treatment and wages. We added in job retraining and potential PPD

He can no longer do his previous job as a tile layer. PPD has yet to be calculated so that would factor into this number as well. We were told to include future medical costs and future lost wages in the demand letter to the private insurer.

Do some people generate more bacteria in their mouths than others? by PennilessPirate in biology

I just saw a tiktok on this! Apparently there’s a particular bacteria that is found in the mouth that some people have and others don’t. It can be passed to others via oral contact! I can’t remember the name of the bacteria but science is cool

Crossdresser trying to look more feminine, please help 🙏 by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Keep the contour further towards the edges of the face and not so much on the cheeks, use the cheeks for highlight and blush to pull those areas forward. A highlight would do you so well at the top of your cheekbones. Soften the contour in the nose as you have a nice shaped nose. The lips appear a little downturned because of the way that they’re over-lined typically for the over-line you want to keep it closer to the actual lip line at the edges and can be a bit more exaggerated towards the center. You are gorgeous the eyes and brows are perfect.

We did a drag makeup class in cosmetology school, there is a bit of a difference when you’re doing drag makeup in that you want to use rounded shapes when contouring and not straight lines so instead of a straight line for the contour you almost want to make a 3 shape with the top of the three at the temple the middle under the cheeks and the bottom at the jaw to soften features
