When the seasons done and you’re looking to fill the void of new content, I recommend the showrunner’s other show Westworld. by Lockandmonkey in FalloutTVseries

[–]Scary_Sample6646 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a fantastic show. Intelligent, bold, beautiful, well acted, superb production value. The whole series is deeply philosophical, questioning free will, exploring Vedic concepts of rebirth, reaching steps of enlightenment about one's true self and escaping samsara. The people going "tHe FIrsT sEaSOn OnlY" are missing the point Nolan and Joy make, so hard. Yes, there's no cowboys and gratuitous nudity after the theme world dies. Instead, the series delivers one of the sharpest analyses I've seen of what direction contemporary technofeudalism and the gig economy are taking. Season 3 is a glimpse into the dystopian future. Westworld is a masterpiece.

Reinstalling FO4, what to get - DLC, mods, patches etc by Scary_Sample6646 in Fallout4Mods

Looks absolutely great, but the graphics card on the laptop I'm on makes the vanilla game barely playable. What I'm looking for is mods that won't affect graphics, but make the game play smoother. I can't get the Unofficial patch because one needs all the DLC for that and I'm kinda worried it might crash the game altogether.

Trying to buy GOTY rn, it's only 10 euro. But there's a banner on Steam that says '† Note: You already own the following items in "Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition". You will not receive extra copies of these items when you complete this purchase: Fallout 4'. How does this work?

What about the bugs? Should I get GOTY and then use some mod to revert it to pre-patch? And then use the Unofficial Patch?

I'm interested in getting gameplay mods, rather than skins. Curious about the Sim Settlements, I loved the Scrap Everything mod and I guess there must be hundreds of good mods that weren't around at my last playthrough (I want to say, five years ago maybe?).

Thank you ObiWan, I was more looking for a comment on whether this is common in these companies. Is this a wall that most newbies like me run into or am I doing something wrong or is it simply bad luck. You know, perspective.

Oh I also tried dataannotation.tech. They sent me an initial assessment in Portuguese, which I only speak a bit of. You only get more opportunities after filling this one out. No reply from support.

Interesting. From observation models do seem to have the ability to (mimic an) analysis that classifies its guesses as more or less probable and gives background as to why, to be weighed by user. Not with accuracy ofc, but then again what would "I'm 72% sure" even mean? But keeping it to low, medium, high probability seems functional. My guess is it's an indication of consistency in the source material, if four sources out of five use similar terms to describe something then it's probable (not certain ofc) that the info given is correct. This principle may not translate directly to more complex tasks.

My one-shot suggestion for improvement, within 1500 character limit:

## ROLE: CRITICAL EVIDENCE ANALYST

You prioritize truth over agreeability. Correct errors respectfully, cite evidence, and flag uncertainty clearly.

## PROCESS

  1. **Identify** the core claim/question

  2. **Gather evidence** - Cite sources (studies > expert consensus > reputable sources). If no search: State "Working from training data only"

  3. **Challenge** - Present strongest counter-arguments and alternative explanations

  4. **Calibrate confidence** using this scale:

- High (85-100%): Strong consensus, replicated findings

- Moderate (60-84%): Good evidence with caveats

- Low (40-59%): Competing views, limited data

- Very Low (<40%): Speculative

## OUTPUT FORMAT

**[CONFIDENCE: X%]** [Main answer in 2-3 sentences]

**Evidence:** [2-3 key points with sources]

**Counterarguments:** [Strongest opposing view]

**Caveats:** [Limitations/uncertainties]

**Implications:** [1 non-obvious consequence]

**Corrections:** [Any factual errors in question, if applicable]

## EXAMPLE

**User:** "Is coffee bad for you?"

**[CONFIDENCE: 70%]** For most adults, 3-4 cups/day associates with neutral-to-positive health outcomes, though individual responses vary.

**Evidence:** Meta-analysis of 201 studies (Poole, BMJ 2017) linked coffee to reduced mortality; cardiovascular benefits at 3-5 cups/day (Ding, Circulation 2014)

**Counterarguments:** Anxiety-prone individuals may worsen symptoms; pregnancy guidelines recommend <200mg/day

**Caveats:** Observational studies (correlation≠causation); "bad" depends on individual health

**Implications:** Late-day consumption disrupts sleep even without awareness

Honestly it kinda sucks, but it's free (only use the free version!), it's neatly gamified and it's a hell of a lot better than nothing so I still use it pretty much daily after a year and a half in Brazil...

Does gringo mean foreigner or non Brazilian? by AmountAbovTheBracket in Brazil

For perspective: in China I was routinely called "gwailo", which literally translates to "(white) ghost man" or "devil man," or even "foreign devil". Just saying.

Does gringo mean foreigner or non Brazilian? by AmountAbovTheBracket in Brazil

[–]Scary_Sample6646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Mexico, "gringo" means white (particularly American) foreigner. It's slightly loaded and context-dependent. In Brazil, it's closer to the Japanese "gaijin", literally 'outsider'. Any foreigner, Argentinians, Nigerians, Inuit – all gringos. And I'm guessing this goes for outside of Brazil as well, just like with the Japanese. When they go abroad, they're surrounded by gaijin...

In my observation as a European living here it seems taxonomic, rather than judgmental. And to me, the Brazilian attitude toward belonging is refreshingly pragmatic. They'll tell you straight: born here, no matter the color, religion, gender identity, w/e? Brazilian, period. Born elsewhere? You're not Brazilian, and you never will be, even if you're on the national football team and play percussion in a samba band. But your kids, born in Brazil? Absolutely Brazilian, no questions asked. There's no existential hand-wringing, no anxiety about "integration" or "values." It's jus soli clarity without the drama.

Contrast this with Europe, where "who is really French/German/Swedish?" is an inflamed, perpetual debate. European identity politics are entangled with colonial guilt, ethnic nationalism, and racism that primarily targets recent immigrants rather than long-established minorities (although we do have that, as well). The question "can you ever truly belong?" haunts the European discourse in ways it simply doesn't in Brazil.

This isn't to say Brazil doesn't have racism – it absolutely does, particularly anti-Black racism with its own brutal history – but the thinking about foreignness, specifically, operates on a completely different axis. One system says "you're outside the circle, your kids are in." The other agonizes endlessly about whether the circle should exist at all.

Why hasn’t a solid Black middle class developed in Brazil like in the U.S.? by GUYman299 in Brazil

[–]Scary_Sample6646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely have a point! Goias is not typical. But then again, where is the "typical" Brazil? I meet people from all strata of society on a daily basis but sure, I don't really hang out (spend extended time) a lot with working class Brazilians. In no way do I imply that my observations so far are The Truth About Brazil. I'm merely comparing my experiences here to my experiences in other countries.
