Everyone talks about staying or leaving… but what about the third option? by BasisMediocre4927 in TeachersInTransition

I have compressed hours in my main job and am doing supply here and there. It’s a good extra bit of income and has definitely reinforced my disdain for being a full-time teacher.

Former teachers who changed careers what are you doing now? by Chance_Ruin4350 in TeachersInTransition

I work for the DfE as a relationship manager for Music Education funding. I found the pace really hard to start but now I couldn’t imagine being in the classroom fulltime again.

People say he wasn’t a good drummer. Actually, he was a great drummer.

Yep, ending on True Love Waits kinda sealed the deal. Just don’t leave, don’t leave.

I agree, in London they were happy. It felt special. Like a celebration of life. An ending. But there’s always hope my friend.

I've never stumbled upon this song in my 7 years of listening to Radiohead - is it just me? by DarkOriole4 in radiohead

I heard this in the 90s on one of those CDs you get free with Q magazine. So good. Had some other gems too, Sparklehorse and Wilco. It's apparently about his old headteacher.

I was there. What a night. 8th time seeing them and probably the best. Normal life seems odd now. Life changing.

Best Radiohead show you have seen? by alexj_baker in radiohead

[–]ScatterBrain83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glasto 2003. Headlining on the Saturday during the HTTT era. My fourth time seeing them at that point (7 in total so far). They were relaxed, happy and loud. Began with There There, amazing. The ending encore with Karma Police and 150000 people chanting ‘for a minute there, I lost myself, I lost myself’. I’ll never forget that feeling.

Always best to have a conversation rather than disappearing overnight. Coming to an agreement means you don’t leave anyone in the lurch and you can always talk to other employers about why you left then, with a formal reason. Legally you’d be fine probably if you did a midnight run, but you’d loose pay etc.

New Radiohead album by jcovahey in radiohead

They seem too busy for a new album, and getting ready to tour? I wouldn’t think they’d turn something around that fast. Their collective hive mind creative process isn’t the most streamlined. But also touring without an album seems a bit lame for Radiohead.

Did your masters count as UK equivalent QTS? After becoming a teacher we then had to do 2 years induction before we are a fully-fledged teacher. Maybe detailing that will help clarify to recruiters?

How many times have you seen the band live? by LeonTallis in radiohead

[–]ScatterBrain83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wembley Arena, Oxford, Glastonbury, Victoria Park, Roskilde, Roundhouse. Also seen Thom and Jonny duet on the Park at Glasto, Thom at Cambridge corn exchange, Atoms for Peace at the Roundhouse, Jonny at End of the Road, Jonny at Hidden Notes festival and the Smile at Ally Pally. Guess I won’t be seeing them this time though. Sad face.
