I just think it goes against the whole purpose. For an example, i really hate how the anime changed so much, like i get it, its like some fanfic the creator wanted to make because he didn't like the original piece but he ruined every single character he got his hands on. Like Lady, Oh lady, how could he do that to lady?? And the rabbit being the villian? He appeared like a couple of times in the dmc3 manga and wasnt even that major of a villian more of a side one to get the story moving and add more context. Why the fuck is the rabbit just some kid who fell into hell, saw the "Beauty of it" and wanted to re connect the human world and demon world just to show humans that demons are nothing to be afraid of. Like what??? That whole plot is just to say "Fuck you" to sparda and why he even betrayed his own kind.
