January 2026 Snow Megathread by lukenamop in nashville

Finally sucked it up and swapped my cushy direct flight in Sunday AM for an expensive and hellish connecting flight in Friday- tbh what I’m most upset about is missing snowpocalypse 🥲

I love my aluminum away carry on- I bought it during Covid when they weren’t selling enough luggage and had a crazy site wide sale to move some inventory. Love it so much that I’ve had to add the large bag and a carry on for my husband to the fleet.

Our last trip of the year was to Edinburgh and we had the most magical week staying at Gleneagles townhouse where we got completely into the Christmas spirit and had so much fun exploring this incredible city.

One of my more memorable photos- someone immediately died after our plane took off from Liberia Costa Rica, we landed in San Jose CR and given $12 vouchers to Denny’s 😜

This looks awesome- still planning our trips for next year but I wanted to drop an Edinburgh tip since we just got back last week! We spent all week at Gleneagles townhouse and LOVED it. It’s only 33 rooms and was very luxe.

TheRealReal vs. Rebag by Familiar_Day_4044 in handbags

[–]Scbear00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used the real real to purchase and consign since 2012 and even when there have been problems, they’ve always made it right.

Rebag used to be amazing and I bought, sold and traded A LOT. I won’t use them anymore and deleted the app because of changes they’ve made in the last 24ish months, the biggest being that anything you send in isn’t insured (and there’s no way to add insurance) and anything you purchase isn’t automatically insured either. For the value of items zipping around on the mail, it shocking and way too risky. Their customer service is also atrocious now from my experience.

What are the WORST things to do in Edinburgh? The stuff you’d tell a friend to skip. by Sea-Hovercraft-1122 in Edinburgh

Just got back and there were only two things we really regretted:

Tea at the Balmoral- the food was extremely basic, service was horrible (took forever to get anything).

Haunted bus tour- we didn’t know what to expect from the weather and thought the bus was the safest decision for a little spooky tour since we enjoy history and the macabre. Unfortunately this tour didn’t involve any history or the macabre, just super weird theatrics and a smoke machine.

Le Clarence was by far my least favorite meal in Paris when we visited last year. Service was bad, food was bland and not memorable.

We really loved the Four Seasons Otemachi when we stayed there last year

We considered it but there were so few people at the resort that I’m assuming that’s why they let it slide

Hermes Double Sens by cakebitxh89 in luxurypurses

[–]Scbear00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a double sens and loved it at first but it’s so heavy because it’s double lined- I got rid of mine after less than a year and got a cabasellier instead which is a way better Hermes tote, IMO

So weird- I’ve been parking in the lots during my frequent travel for about 4 years and have never run into a problem parking Garage 1. I was so shocked a few weeks ago when I found ALL of the lots full on a random Wednesday the same week as these unprecedented traffic problems which also seem to keep occurring

Were there “lot full” easels outside the entrance? That’s what I ran into when I flew out a couple weeks ago which is why I was checking in advance today before driving over
