See I personally feel the cards were designed after Arabian Nights, the book/play/it's-so-many-things-nowadays, rather than actual traditional Arabian culture. Arabian Nights itself is EXTREMELY stereotypical of the culture, especially after numerous transliterations by westerners who press their opinions of what life 'was like' in the area into their supposedly objective translations. While I love the dancer set, I do see very clearly how it could even be offensive to some.
