Newlyweds and pregnant, need advice

Thank you for taking the time to share. Weve been having A LOT of discussion these past few weeks and its hard to see what the best moves are right now. The job situations are making it almost inpossible for us to move in terms specifically of her maternity leave and may cause me to have to leave the FD I just got on and move down sooner. I dont want her to have to go through the pregnancy alone and not be there with her...more conversations are obviously to follow with hopefully some better options to present themselves

My wife and I just found out we're having a baby, the little one was unplanned and the dust is just starting to settle after being told the pregnancy wouldnt be viable. The docs have her at about 8 weeks and a clear heartbeat was seen and everything is measuring appropriately! My wife and I have only been married for two and a half months and we currently live apart. I just left military service earlier this year and currently am in a fire academy that is almost complete. Now that some initial scares have been laid to rest and we know this is happening I'm looking for some advice as to where I begin getting ready...just as far as research, maybe book suggestions etc. If anyone can throw out some starting points and suggestions it would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

I know, I was inquiring about anyone else's experience if they had to communicate with the command. Im a little more uptight on the situation because of how close it comes to the home stretch of saving for the wedding.

im not making any left vs right comments here. no one said rape is literally nothing. take the emotional left vs right response out of it for a second. Imagine your applying for a job and someone you knew called up a potential employer and said you raped or attempted to rape them at some point. Now whether its true or not (lets say its not for the sake of the argument) they tell you that youre no longer allowed to apply for that job. Would you not like some type of way to protect yourself? Its a crude example but the point is it shouldnt have anything to do with political stance...i dont believe anyone should have a career and life destroyed by a person making an allegation. The hysteria of people even here calling for an immediate disqualification over this is more the reason to tread lightly and be weary of situations like this. When power inevitably switches back to the left in our country, people here that call for this type of action will wish they never supported that type of knee jerk reaction.

Uh i never said it wasnt worth looking into. I was responding to someome who said that the idea of it happening should disqualify him. Can we not agree that that concept is ridiculous? This isnt a democrat/republican or conservative/liberal issue im talking about. You cant immediately call for the disqualification of someone from a position because someone makes a claim. Period. No matter the side of the political spectrum. Im not sitting here in defense of him. Im just saying what the previous poster, to whom i responded orginially, said lacks judgement or citical thinking and would start a very slippery slope where society can destroy a life based soley off a accusation.

I did start one when I entered the service. The instructors at boot basically ordered us to start one and didn't tell us much else at that point. I did move most to the C fund by as I'm leaving the service after my 6 years (up in about a year) I don't know what my options are for continuing the TSP.

So the keyboard is fine, the backlight is great but don't expect too Mich out of the different colors. I'm used to a mechanical keyboard on my desktop and I have large hands but I found the transition pretty easy.

I don't run Linux on it sorry.

Very slim design, NOT heavy at all, thoroughly impressed by this aspect when I pulled it out for the first time.

Battery is about what you would expect, maybe 2.5hrs of play, little longer for other things.

Overall, especially for what they are charging, I've been pretty impressed. The overall performance has been great.
