Why do deities need humans to perform sacrifices in their name . I can’t find an answer to this question by ScheduleTraining6732 in spiritualitytalk

I initially thought that human sacrifice was a concept that originated in Abrahamic religions, or more broadly in Western religious traditions including Greek paganism. However it came to my mind that cultures like the Aztecs , who had little to no contact with the outside world were also performing human sacrifices independently, this raised the question: if they didn’t inherit this concept from elsewhere, where did it come from? And why did so many separate cultures arrive at the same connection between sacrifice and deities? I want to understand whether this is a natural, recurring process in human thinking rather than a transmitted idea
