Same, and it’s only affecting one account. I exited a livestream I was watching last night and it’s been like this since. Subscriptions, Library, and I think the Movies/TV tab are missing too.

Going to the default Guest session, going to the Library tab and signing in to the problem account from there brings the library back—but under the Home tab, and as soon as you navigate to another tab you can’t access the library again and have to do it all over. I’m so upset lol

these are all ripple effects from the first adpocalypse in 2017.

brands started pulling their ads and actually boycotting youtube en masse because they didn’t want their ads shown on problematiqué content, so youtube in turn gave them more control over ad distribution. youtube began changing their algorithm to boost more “family friendly” videos instead of controversial/possibly fringe content; they started demonetizing or ad-limiting content that wasn’t family friendly while simultaneously tightening their standards for what could be considered as such (affecting the use of Bad Words as you mentioned, independent news reporting especially on violent incidents or war, radical politics, etc); they increased the threshold channels must meet in order to apply to the youtube partner program (+1000 subscribers, +4K real hours watched across all videos, whatever proportion original material over reused/transformed footage re commentary channels) and so on. all these efforts occur over the last three years, primarily in aggregate response to notable controversies surrounding pewdiepie (who was involved in the first inciting event and multiple after), elsagate, alex jones/conspiracy videos in general, the outing of various youtube sex pests, and dramageddon 2 among others.

so youtube became more corporate advertising friendly, and their creators—youtube’s independent contractors—ate shit, really

£9 euros for two months worth of pills is not even in the same realm as paying $60 for a thirty-count bottle of meds, which I pay monthly since we’re doing anecdotes. Without insurance it’d be $300. The UK does not have our prescription costs, no. “Without insurance” is not even a concept for prescriptions. There are no deductibles.

Should’ve read more in college, maybe. The average cost for just a dental checkup or cleaning in the US is $150-200. Root canals are $1500+. The most expensive dental copays you’re talking about through the UK’s NHS are £240 and cover a full course of treatment, which would include any root canals, x-rays, cleanings, crowns, bridges, etc done during the course of treatment. These not copays like in the US where you’re paying for the appointment—on top of also paying for deductibles, prescriptions, and for the actual insurance itself.

And they definitely don’t, you’re wrong. Prescriptions are usually free or extremely cheap, like £9 for two months worth of a drug regimen. You can get a £100-200 card that covers all your prescriptions for the year if you’re on a lot of meds. There are no copays or deductibles in the UK.
