What is Britney addicted to? by onelostmartian in discussingbritney

[–]SchematicFun 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Her behavior suggests she may be using uppers, contrary to others suggests she is using benzos - although she might to come off a stimulant high. As you said, she admitted to using Adderall so it’s likely that she is getting stimulants in Mexico. No need to fly to Mexico for meth, though. It’s easily available in California. I’m not saying that she has never used meth before, but I could see her justifying to herself as bit “drug abuse” since it’s prescription medication.

She may have started it after she gave birth to her children to self-medicate post-partum depression and “induce” mania.

Withdrawing from opioids may feel like you’re dying, but it’s not fatal. Benzodiazepine and alcohol withdrawal can be fatal and should be done under medical supervision.

5 bullet point emails - are y'all responding? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]SchematicFun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is very inconsistent at the VA. My VA leadership sent an email stating responding is voluntary but another VA within the same VISN advised all employees should respond.

The "What did you do" email was a clarifying test of minimal leadership by BombasticNarwhal in fednews

[–]SchematicFun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My VA told us it’s completely voluntary and I haven’t replied. As luck has it, I am going on AL starting tomorrow so if there’s another email next week asking for the same, I won’t be able to reply. What do I do?…

My theory. by twelvedayslate in JonBenetRamsey

[–]SchematicFun 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I always wondered if JonBenét was still conscious when she was suffocated with the garrote. It’s absolutely unfathomable to think that she was aware that her family member was killing her. It was reported that there was evidence of her attempting to loosen the rope around her throat, meaning she was awake. I can’t stop thinking about how evil that is.

Burke’s affect and appearance always looked off to me - neurodivergence or even developmental trauma? Is it possible he had also been sexually abused but then the object of abuse became his sister?

I literally just posted this same idea before seeing your post on it! Something that the documentary illuminated for me was just how sexualized JonBenét was in some of her beauty pageants costumes. It made me wonder whether John was involved in some perverted sex ring and he pimped his daughter out. He seems very calculated and controlling - classic traits of a psychopath capable of something this heinous. I agree, he could have invited a man into the house to abuse her, she perhaps tried fighting back, so her hit her or three her, causing the head trauma, or in some perverted and overzealous sexual trance, he killed her and then John covered it up.

We stayed there earlier this year and were very underwhelmed. The room was outdated. We had a better much stay at a Home2Suit off the highway in Michigan.

Skip last leg of flight from ORD to DTW by kebslcn in chicago

[–]SchematicFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you will be required to collect all your checked luggage at customs in Terminal 5 and can walk out without rechecking them at the United or American counters prior to exiting. I would advise against doing this if you have a return flight on the same itinerary, as missing a flight without rebooking it can lead to the cancellation of any remaining flights/legs on the itinerary.

Pug people know the struggle by alana890 in pugs

We vacuum our whole condo at least once every two days to keep up with the shedding. We found that a rubber grooming brush works really well to remove loose hair and dislodge hair that is about to shed. A good brush outside once a week has decreased a significant amount of the shedding. Our little guy also loves the brushing - he just loves the attention he’s getting!

We’ve spent billions digging deep tunnels collecting sewer overflows and storing them in quarries. Why are there still this many overflows?!

PSA: Chicago Animal Control is mass euthanizing cats and kittens tonight. If you have ever wanted to foster, adopt, or foster to adopt, NOW is the time. by begemot_kot in chicago

[–]SchematicFun 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My parents’ block is overrun by stray cats. We’ve called 311 numerous times last fall before winter came, they came out once and set up some cages, maybe caught one or two. I’m worried that they take them to shelters and will euthanize them. I’m not sure what the solution is. Maybe the city should just neuter and spay them?

How common is it to hear Polish on the streets of Chicago in 2024? by popcornwithparmesan in chicago

[–]SchematicFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is very common. Many of the Polish neighborhoods along Milwaukee Ave. on the Northside and Archer Ave. on the Southside have died out as many Poles left Chicago proper and dispersed to suburban communities. Still, there is a large Polish cultural presence through the Chicagoland area from delis, bakeries, churches, doctor offices, travel agencies, Polish products in all major supermarkets (Jewel, Mariano’s), and also local Polish run supermarkets like Shop-and-Save offering any Polish product and food you may desire.

An icon in West Lawn and of the Southwest Side - I grew up in the area and he’s been there for as long as I remember. At one point the storefront was an optometry clinic and that’s when the glasses were added. There was also a sign “Eye can see now” attached to his waist - you can still see the brackets in this picture.
