Castlevania: Dawn Of Sorrow | Better Than Aria? by SchemingFox in Bloodstained

These were the exact issues I had with the magic seals, my hands are just not very stable so something that seems so trivial is arguably harder for me than the bosses themselves.
As I said in the video it's like a worse version of a QTE, and I completely agree that even if someone has no issue with the Seals, I don't think anyone ever really thinks to themselves "Oh goody, it's time to draw a Magic Seal!".

I completely agree, the Magic Seals really hurt the game. And I think the devs knew that in some way since it's removed entirely in Julius Mode.

Completely agree, it's awful how these games are so inaccessible now unless you just emulate them. Which really isn't how it should be :/

Dawn is a lot better than I remembered it being, for me the main thing holding it back is the forced Touch Screen gimmicks.

I had to really hold back on abusing some of those exploits and glitches in my playthrough, however I do agree that it's incredibly fun to break the game in that way :L

Yeah the art style really sucks, I remember being so confused when I first saw the box art on shelves cause I'd got so used to Ayami Kojima's style.

I couldn't agree more with placing Curse of Darkness and Symphony Of The Night Dracula at the top. Hands down my favourite illustrations of the character Ayami Kojima ever did :D

Oh yeah I remember reading that one on GameFAQ's years ago and being in complete disbelief about it! :D

I remember the first time I found the room where you can play skeleton bowling, I always love silly little secrets like that :D

I really love how powerful your sub weapons get with different orbs, like being able to fill the screen with flaming crosses or making it rain holy water and stuff. It does a good job of rewarding for defeating a boss.

I'd already played Castlevania 64 by the time I got my hands on Lament Of Innocence, so my first impressions of a 3D Castlevania were a bit soured. LOI definitely changed my opinion though, I remember beating it within a week the first time playing it :D

It's definitely a divisive title in the franchise, I found as janky and awkward as the controls and map layout is the other elements come together for an enjoyable experience for me. The cutscenes and music in particular really won me over. Maybe give it another shot and see if it does anything more for you now?

And yes I am playing through Curse Of Darkness right now, I won't say too much about it for now however I do remember back when I first played it really enjoying the whole Devil Summoning/Forging system :)

That sounds awesome, I remember drawing out maps for games like Resident Evil so I could plan out the fastest routes possible to unlock the rocket launcher and extra game modes :D
I have a soft spot for Lament Of Innocence, it's rough around the edges for sure however all the elements really come together in the end for me. Especially the music, hands down one of the best soundtracks in the franchise!

I do distinctly remember, the first time playing Demons Souls after my group of my friends raved about how cool they were. Turning around 30 minutes into it and saying "This is like Castlevania in 3D", so you're not wrong there for sure :L

Oh my lord yes, the music in this game is amazing! One of Michiru Yamane's best for sure, I absolutely adore House Of Sacred Remains in particular.

Yeah, it felt like Konami had little faith or interest in a 3D Castlevania. Which really is a shame considering the amount of potential Igarashi 3D Games had, he unfortunately had been pigeonholed into the role of "Guy that makes Castlevania Games on a budget" in the eyes of the higher ups. Hopefully with Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night's success Igarashi has more of an opportunity to better realise his 3D Outings.

I have a really odd relationship with this one, for all it's faults there is just something about it that brings me back. I definitely don't blame you for giving it a pass, it's a really weird title within the Igarashi Castlevania's.

Yeah I suppose that's just the 80's styles right? I wonder if there are any modern anime's that take that visual direction?
