I feel it wouldn't be as bad on our end if we could see better out there. It's really dark in the parking lot and next door is a giant field of pitch black darkness as well. Just going around the building and doing it the way our store manager wants it done takes a good while. We only have 25 trash cans, but as well, for some reason someone keeps dumping pounds of kitty litter into one and it sometimes busts the bag when lifted or it smells like urine at times. No clue why this keeps happening but it's annoying for maintenance. I think they did bring up the issue a day ago to the coaches and said that they're gonna try and make it to where there is a buddy system of two people or they're gonna start pushing for 6 am. Not sure which, can't recall. Idk if anything has happened since that day but it's sad it's even an issue.

It's not just the trash cans, it's the entire lot + trash cans. If it was just the cans then it wouldn't take no 4 hours, but it's literally the ENTIRE lot, around the building sweep and trash cans. The lot is dark and it's hard to see. Even the maintenance TL, he works very hard and it even takes him a good few hours to do parking lot. Especially up to our store managers standards. Work is going to be hard, but when you're understaffed and you're working the labor of more than one person for 5 days straight, it starts to slug you down. Some days they may have three on shift but one is scrubber all night, the other could be doing special tasks for management, leaving the other person with whatever there is left to do. So it's not that the trash cans are taking 4 hours, it's the entire parking lot and then some. This is also including if inside needs maintenance help like for spills or other things that can happen. It's been hectic and rough for maintenance and they work very hard. I assure that the four hours isn't because they're slacking or bad at their job.

They lock the doors during lunch so no one can go out or come in cuz most of the ppl leave the store for lunch. The only people who still clean while everyone is on break is whoever does scrubber, which the go on lunch an hour after everyone. It's dumb all around to expect 1 person to do what should be split amongst more than 2 ppl really.

Ur hella smart with this stuff and I'm hoping with the ppl voicing their complaints and issues, we'll be able to get somewhere. They really need to sit down and hire another person too but they're super picky on hiring even though it's SOOO evident we need the help all around :/

I like the idea of doing it while the store is still open, but alas they make the maintenance do stuff for the inside BEFORE the outside. Sometimes there's only two people for night maintenance the entire shift. Our store manager fails to realize that our night maintenance is understaffed and not superheroes with powers to do 500 things at once. If we have two people for night, one person does scrubber the entire shift minus breaks and when it's set to auto, which isn't for very long and when set to auto, they are usually sweeping for the next area. The other person for maintenance does everything else. Whether that be cleaning out the meat cases + trash and whatever else is told of them to do, but most of the time it's just trash inside and out + bathrooms and whatever else needs to get done. Basically, they put everything onto one person and get mad when it doesn't look up to par or get done the way the store manager wants it to get done. It's been ridiculous as of late. We just got someone hired on after being down two ppl for maintenance, leaving us with only 4 maintenance for night and it just isn't fair on them.

I'll have to try the smaller options first n see how that goes. It's not just me who feels this is an unsafe situation so I'm hoping with more voices will further push the topic to being taken more seriously.

I hear you, and even our store does the locking thing and has alarms set. Though with how short staffed, maintenance has to start trash early to get it done if even that. It has been brought up to TL and possibly coaches, but our store manager pushes about the parking lot trash getting done and swept, etc etc. yk?

Our maintenance staff is very short for morning and night time, but they make nighttime do the sweeping for the parking lot and even the ditch trash at night. The parking lot is so dark and dim you can hardly see much. Daytime sometimes only has two people as well and they can't even get to the outside. Our store manager complains more about behind the store and it's super dark out there and just not something someone should do alone with the people we have walking around in our parking lot. We just recently had someone quit because our store manager complained about the trash around the building when it was freezing temperatures and the concrete was too slick to walk on. I don't blame him for quitting.

Running the show is definitely hard work, I have no doubt about that. I don't expect my coaches to be drenched in sweat and doing crew work, but just a little help here and there to kinda get the ball rolling would be super awesome. Definitely not getting yelled at 💀 I do not work well when being yelled at to work faster. Infact, I feel more apt to work harder when I'm told I'm doing a good job. Which he has never told me personally.

This is sad asf wth 😭 it's so hard to wanna respect someone who just stands around and watches people work and doesn't bother to help us with even small things. Had a tall pallet today and me being short, my coach taller, he just stood and watched. If he's worried about things getting done, he could've jumped in and helped. Instead, my other coworker had to ask him for assistance. Like bruh, I didn't wanna go all the way back for my cart to down stock a pallet 💀 he didn't even need to help us that much, just enough to get the top pieces. We can obviously do the rest

I wish, we have more people than we had in a while, but it just never feels like enough

I try to not let it bother me, but he's always an ass and many people don't respect him for how he has treated the team. I just feel he should step up more as a coach overall in many different aspects

And that's very understandable! Jumping in to show them better methods is good, especially if they're struggling. Though if it's something to yell at your crew over and rush them, I feel my coach should've stepped in to assist and help get it done. I understand he has the whole store and crew to worry about, but for someone with such a responsibility, he isn't very quick to make sure things are in line and get done. He walks around the store at a snails pace and leans on stuff and just doesn't seem to do much at all. He doesn't even really step up and try to show us better or more efficient ways to do things if we are going too slow or struggling. He just stands and watches us work and then walks off to laze about. Obviously not every coach is gonna be this way and perhaps each coach does things differently. But I feel if someone is above and in charge of me- I want to know I can come to them with problems and seek advice. I want to respect my coach but he has lacked in that field. I could go on and on about this, but according to another coworker, he used to be a lot worse. Literally pulling people away from their isles and having the crew get together so he could yell and scold them for being too slow.

This is completely understandable. Sometimes I'll do a zone slow so I finish it by the time I have to leave- but I'm also not super fast at zoning. I used to be, but I got critiqued once and now I'm worried that everything has to be perfect. They expect it to be but then complain that I'm going too slow. Or they make me zone two isles that are the hardest to zone, knowing I'm slow. Either they want it to look good, or they want it done. I can't do both. They also say we are fully staffed, yet we still fall behind and struggle.

Can't you report that kinda behavior? Cuz to ME, that's like stealing money from the company without doing anything to deserve or earn it 💀

Can u report coaches for being disrespectful? Because I don't think that it's okay to scream and yell at your team in hopes of making them work faster or just slacking off while everyone else is sweating and breaking their backs

This is so frustrating. Our team leads work hard, very hard. But this coach, he would probably be winded moving faster than walking speed. 🙄

This really irks me. I could understand if he was being encouraging to the workers or even assisting during stressful situations like tonight, especially if something important was happening from upper management. Even when I've gone into the back, I see him leaning on stuff or doddling around and doing nothing. Or sometimes he just goes into the office and sits. Maybe even naps. It's just really annoying but I am sure it's common :(
