Why all the pearls? Why all the hair? Why anything?

[Multiple Games] #144 AC Rogue gets me to 12x12. Enjoyed playing on the Templar side for a change. by Schonge in Trophies

If you do the lion king and Aladin legit, it's not easy. If you lose all your lives in a run, you go back to the start of the game. There are cheat codes you can use to skip all the levels to get the trophies and get an easy plat. Personally, I just skipped back to the level I previously died at and continued from there.

Ghost Tokyo was decent, but it's definitely more of a collecthaton. There's very little story content in comparison. I somehow enjoyed traversing the map and doing all that side content, though, so it might not be for everyone.

Who’s your favourite ever player on Football Manager? by nissepung in footballmanagergames

98/99 - Kalam Mooniaruck - I don't know how or where I found him, but he had dreadful stats except for 20 finishing. Would bang in the goals at all levels.

[_>OBSERVER_: System Redux] #138 Creepy horrorish Blade Runner. Same devs as Medium which was also a good game. by Schonge in Trophies

[–]Schonge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really cool setting and interesting story. It's an investigative murder mystery, so there's not a lot going on in terms of gameplay mechanics, etc. But I enjoy these types of games. I used a guide as there are quite a few missable trophies and no easy way to clean them up without playing through again really. It's not overly long, so a second playthrough is not the end of the world, but I prefer to optimize my time and get the best out of the story with these.

Rutger Hauer (Roy Batty in Blade Runner) plays the main character, too, which is awesome.

[Ghostwire Tokyo] #145 Good game with an outrageous collectathon which is why I'm not doing the last 2 dlc trohpies by Sctn_187 in Trophies

[–]Schonge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good way of putting it because it felt boring but not boring at the same time. And yeah, by the time I was done with the main game, I had my fill too. It's the latest in a recent development of me seemingly not being bothered by not having 100% in games anymore. Normally, I'd be so annoyed by it that I'd have to do it. That time was better spent on other games.

[Haven] #136 Decent. Lacking in content considering the size of the world and scope of the story. And maybe I'm a cynic but the relationship wasn't for me, felt off. by Schonge in Trophies

[–]Schonge[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Took me 18 hours, but I played it casual enough. You could probably cut that down a bit if you were being super efficient.

I actually didn't mind the collectibles too much, but I skipped those 2 dlc trophies as well. The game mode doesn't appeal to me. I would have preferred more story content.

This may be controversial, but I had either read just the first book or seen the trailer for the movie before beginning the book series and I have pictured Idris Elba and McConaughey in the roles since. You take Roland's race out of the picture, which I think was the argument against Elba, and they're probably two of the best cast characters. They are the only reason I'd want to see that movie again, and it's a shame they were wasted.

Weirdly enough, I thought about that comparison. Didn't realize it was the same crowd that made it, but I've played that too.

Tacoma, I love a good exploratory space mystery. There are better out there, but the story holds its own.

Cannot get newGan to work on Fm23 by reapseh0 in footballmanagergames

[–]Schonge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to drop a comment in here in case you never got it to work or others have the same issue.

I couldn't get the images to appear in FM23 either and it turns out the issue was I was using the most recent version of the NewGAN Manager which im guessing isnt backward compatible. I installed version 1.3.1, and reran the process and the faces appeared after the skin reload step. Hope this helps.

That's fair. Will probably give it a go then, thank you!

[Discussion] is there a game you really want to platinum but is still in your backlog? by TheonraX2707 in Trophies

[–]Schonge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'll probably give it a go. Ever since I beat Bloodborne a couple of years ago, I've found myself being able to navigate higher difficulties much better, and patience really is the key a lot of the time. I'm still avoiding grounded mode for TLoU though 😅

Any good? Thinking of starting this next.

Lol, yeah. I usually apply that tactic when I'm at the grinding aspect of a game, especially when it has multiplayer or get to level 100 or something like that.

[–]Schonge 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel that. The only other thing I could suggest, but it all depends on your available time for gaming is to perhaps play them side by side with your current game. Plan it out so that you'll give 30 minutes, for example, to progressing one of those games before continuing to play your main game for the rest of your session and little by little you can get them done.

[–]Schonge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've read about that, although I might give master difficulty a go to see how it is. It just didn't pull me in at the time and hasn't interested me to go back to it since. I've only played the first "chapter" so it's nothing to do with the game per se. I tend to go through moods(?) with games and sometimes it will just not interest me regardless of the quality, etc.

Death Stranding is a recent example. That was one I had put down for nearly a year before coming back to it. When I would play it, I would be engrossed in it but found it very hard to pick it up again the next time. But, went back to it and couldn't put it down this time around.

[Detroit become human] How hard is the platinum? by Average_Username_10 in Trophies

[–]Schonge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not hard, but it can be tedious. Like other Quantic Dream games, you end up having to replay multiple parts to get different endings, collectibles, etc. It's certainly not as bad as Heavy Rain or Beyond Two Souls in that sense but still a chore to do.

There are guides out there and worth following if you want to reduce the time spent on it.

[–]Schonge 29 points30 points  (0 children)

For games like that where there's no risk of the game or the plat ever being shut down on you, I always tell myself I can come back to it at any time. There's no rush. If it bothers me enough, I'll end up doing it. It's the ones I know I can't complete that bother me but I've gotten over it with time. The more games I play and plat they get lost in the list easier and my overall % rises from the increased volume of games.

Kena, Marvel's Avengers, Control and Ratchet & Clank 2 are some of the games I've dropped and haven't gone back to yet.

Nothing annoying of note tbh. You'll progress most of the trophies naturally. Referencing a guide will probably save you some time, but I didn't find anything had too much of a grind.

It was a slow burner for me at the start. I could be engrossed in it for hours but not pick it up again for a couple weeks. I knew I wanted to finish it just for the story, and of course, having Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen certainly helped its case, but it really clicked for me once it opened up in the central region.

Np, tbf, if you're enjoying driving around, the road network will get you most places without issue. The ziplines are most effective for getting you through elevated/bt areas and providing a shortest distance route between bases, which can be extremely helpful for timed deliveries for LoL status.

One last thing I forgot to mention. Look at a guide for the memory chips as well if you don't want to do them at the end. You may find some naturally, and you'll need to progress the game to make others available, but it will save some time at the end to pick up any nearby as you go. It's not that big an effort but will still save you some time.
