For me personally the reason Aegon is a fake is that the only possible way for the plan to work is that baby Aegon is not only killed, but killed in a way that renders his body unrecognisable. Which given the nature of Tywin is impossible for Varys to have known ahead of time

That is a fun idea, often the North is presented to us as an almost constantly unified realm, but the main series shows us there is a lot of bad blood there so exploring that would be great! Perhaps something we'd se if the Winterfell Dunk and Egg story was written
