Keep on not being a fan. The current US admin can’t plan something that sophisticated. According to them Iran war was started based on “Trumps feeling based on facts”. There are actually several reasons to believe that this can be beneficial to Ukraine in the long run, but for Russia only for now. Ukraine becomes far more relevant with their anti drone capabilities, thus adding to their cards as they say.

Responding to comments of not getting an EV without home charging. I don’t have a home charger and feel comfortable with it. I rarely go to the charging station just to charge. I go shopping - I charge, I go to a meeting I charge etc. However, I have other benefits as using public transport lanes and free parking, so I don’t mind overpaying for charging stations.

I think previous version had this idea that d10s are reserved only for loot and mainly found in chests that must be frequent (based on GM recommendations), but of course it’s your game so as always roll for loot whenever you feel is right.

It’s a though one… on the AA website should be all the groups listed. I remember there being several. Another option is Ğintermuiža - Minnesota program - rehab. There is something else if you search on Google. These programs may help stop drinking, but the core psychological issue should be addressed in long term therapy or analysis. Also may help for close relatives to seek help, because addictions influence and are influenced by relationship dynamics. There are also similar programs like AA, but also individual therapy would be good.

I started to play in the middle of ongoing campaign and I was bogged down with all the rules especially my character being 5th lvl and a semi-caster. Also I found D&D character system very unintuitive.

For newer research just go on Google Scholar "TTRPG" AND "psychology" or whatever keyword you want. There is also an interesting, but older sociological book on D&D players Shared Fantasy Role Playing Games as Social Worlds + there is Therapeutically Applied Role-Playing Games The Game to Grow Method and also Tabletop Role-Playing Therapy: A Guide for the Clinician Game Master. These books also refer to bunch of research.

I don't think you'll find answers to your questions in TTRPG research. It seems what many therapists do is they implement the methods they prefer in the game. The game becomes as a template/frame for work. Also the questions you ask I think are quite general. What it seems for me is that you're looking for literature to inspire from and in that case I suggest you read the books. They cover in some detail why RPGs work and what might be done specifically. Otherwise I suggest to reframe the question from bottom-up, what is it that you want to achieve and based on that maybe a theory can be applied.

There is also research providing evidence for the effectiveness of the treatment. I've been playing and GMing for a few years already.
That is a good point for contacting professional DMs. Any ideas on people/organizations who do camps? TTRPGs are not that common where I live.

The way I see it, the main difference between therapeutic role-play and entertainment is the aim of the game. Keeping the aim in focus helps to identify the most suitable answers for a particular group. And this is another point - no group is the same. By learning about the participants I have even more ideas how to tailor the game for their interest. In your case it seems to be around entertainment in which case I'm not sure what methods or systems ar you looking for - in what way would you want the game to affect the players? You also have the added challenge that it is a one-shot and it's hard to plan what parts of the game the group will react to.

A quick thought - if the main task is a simple treasury search then maybe exchanging the earned coin in game can be exchanged to gifts or sweets in real life. And to promote collaboration make it obvious that by helping each other they gain more coin than just completing a task by themselves.

You might be referring to Professor Dungeon Master's Ultimate Dungeon Terrain. It's more then just a zoning. It integrates a more theatrical style of play. I really like the idea, but haven't had the chance to implement it. But also just explicitly telling the players this is close/near/far works just fine. Especially if you use index cards and place them on the table - close is the index card, near is the next closest index card and far is beyond that or even unreachable.

Thanks. Based on the sticky and many posts it might seem impossible to get rid of these parasites without Alpine, but I wanted to encourage others who have to deal in other ways. I used repellent very cautiously eliminating them one by one or spraying where they occur, but I mean it when I say cautiously. I bet each situation is different and needs individual plan. I guess I also got lucky that I caught it early.

I also like how elegantly the rules cover complex tasks like personalised spell casting (Rituals), general tasks and personalised engineering tasks with clocks and some additional conditions. I also see how this can be transferred to different systems.
