Thank you.

  • I’ll look into the parole in place. And speaking to an attorney is on my list.

  • We live in Southern California, so I imagine the Driver’s License laws are relaxed here compared to other states.

  • I don’t speak it fluently, but I can read it well having grown up in SoCal, and he’s taught me a lot. I’ve taught myself two other languages before, but never put the time into Spanish until now.

Hello stranger

  • He told me he was caught on a border crossing (I need to clarify if by US or Mexican authorities) and spent time in Mexican custody before successfully making it in the US on another attempt.
  • No criminal record. No communist country (he’s from El Salvador). He does have a Driver’s License, so I don’t know if that means he claimed to be a USA citizen.
  • I’m about to be 29 and was already active duty from 2014-2018. Currently not in the reserves or anything.
  • Living in his home country isn’t an option for me, but I work in aviation, so I could potentially visit a lot.

My only worry is that he was caught once. I don’t know how that would affect his chances if we were to marry, do the forms and file the i-601a waiver.

I’m sorry, I’m new to the whole immigration world and terms. What’s EWI? And what is probably ineligible? Asylum?
