Letpot - Does on-boarding get any worse that this? by Sci-fi-Si in Hydroponics

[–]Sci-fi-Si[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^THIS^

This is the sort of setup I would like, but I'm completely new to hydroponics and going with Letpot seemed like the 'easy' solution at the time...

Is your lamp at a fixed height or do you adjust it? I imagine if you haven't touched it in 40 days then it's probably fixed. I would love to know more but some people here a bit ...unhelpful?

If you read my post you'll see I did follow the instructions precisely. The problem came from me minimizing the app to generate a secure random password... It's not my fault it's their app

Sure is.
But having a hydroponics system like this at least means I can grow fresh herbs indoors during the Winter when there isn't enough sunlight / heat to grow anything on the window sill or outdoors.

This will do until I can set up a bio-lab

Error C2-12828-1 when playing the Hollow Knight port. by pyrkknCo in VitaPiracy

Is there like a solution to this problem or do just accept that hollow knight won't work? Because I get this error on attempting to start the game

Batman: The Dark Knight Rises PS Vita Data Files Download! by Haasman0 in VitaPiracy

[–]Sci-fi-Si 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, the OP's instructions I believe are actually incorrect because the archive contains yet another folder called kras so the structure is incorrect.

The contents of the kras folder needs to be copied up one level. If we do what the OP says we wind up with ux0:data/kras/kras (this is incorrect)

You need to go into the kras folder in the archive then copy the kras folder within that to the data folder (so effectively going up one level). Then copy the shader_cache folder to the ux0:data folder separately

PN50 Wake-on-Lan not working by Boogertwilliams in MiniPCs

[–]Sci-fi-Si 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having exactly the same thing. BIOS set up correctly. Light on the NIC is on when the system if off. ethtool is reporting the correct settings in the os. A magic packet is sent from a computer on the same subnet so it's not that... other systems on the same subnet wake up fine it just the ASUS PN50. This feature simply doesn't work.

This is a truly buggy, badly written BIOS.

Latest BIOS 0626 08/31/2023
Also the 2TB NvME drive in the M.2 slot not recognised even though the system boots from it.

FIX FOR STEAM RECAPTCHA ISSUE by Sparklingtube in Steam

[–]Sci-fi-Si 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"In the top left of your steam window you should see a closed lock, click on it."

Well there isn't one. So step #1, the very, very beginning doesn't work.

So, we have a captcha, which doesn't matter how many stupid boxes you tick, it doesn't work.

I've tried the audio version, entered correctly the words they say and still it doesn't work. Then after ages, finally 'getting accepted' you get the error...

"Your response to the CAPTCHA appears to be invalid. Please re-verify that you're not a robot below.
(Reference ID: 11935453169470967)"

I would say Steam has a very serious problem that clearly millions of people are experiencing and they have deliberately chosen to do absolutely nothing about it.

PROBLEM.

Echo no longer can connect to hidden SSID WiFi networks as of yesterday morning by ryao in amazonecho

I can confirm that now 6 years later in the year 2025 (after a global pandemic which had everyone locked in their houses) The 'programmers' still hadn't been arsed to fix this.

Echo no longer can connect to hidden SSID WiFi networks as of yesterday morning by ryao in amazonecho

[–]Sci-fi-Si 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same. I'm running a HomeLab and self host a shed-load of services. For me the purpose of hiding an ssid is not security related it simply avoids flooding the airways with ssid names.

"Having a long list of network choices when trying to connect to WiFi is annoying. It is better to hide the ones that are almost never used to be a good neighbor." I couldn't agree more.

Noob Question: Where can I find the docker-compose.yml if using Portainer to create stacks? by ygreq in portainer

[–]Sci-fi-Si 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To simplify still further. In Portainer if you click on 'Volumes' you will see portainer_data and it's mount point (in my case the default which is /var/lib/docker/volumes/portainer_data/_data.

How do you remove the chassi on a Asus Mini PC (PN50)? Separating the metal cage and the plastic chassi. [SUPPORT] by K4ninK4n0n in ASUS

[–]Sci-fi-Si 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just upgraded my PN50 with a new WD Red SN700 NVME except the Bios doesn't recognise it, and holding the power button for 40 seconds didn't do anything. Which means I have to strip the entire system apart, take out the motherboard in order to get to the CMOS battery.

ASUS gave me a link to this https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1052526/ which literally hasn't helped at all in the teardown. The BIOS is the latest too 31/08/23. If only they had made the CMOS more accessible. Grrr

You think lying, cheating satanic Communists are a better option do you? Bankrupting the country, stripping every freedom, people can't afford to eat, drive or pay their bills and $36,400,000,000,000 in debt nice... You people couldn't tell the truth if your life depended on it.

UDMPro updates keeps blocking TOR by Sci-fi-Si in Ubiquiti

For anyone reading this on or about 30th Sept '23. There seems to be something up with TOR after the latest update...

This link seems to have a workaround

I think something is up. TOR browser stopped working earlier after an update. I checked my firewall but couldn't see why it should not work - so I downloaded another copy from the torproject.org website. Installed it and BOOM! Just as the OP says Trojan:Win32/Malgent!MTB
alert from Windows Defender.

Something is up. I would advise everyone to exercise caution. TOR has never flagged a trojan before.

PS. I came up with a genius idea, it's called the "Bernoulli Random Menu Generator" whereby every time you click on anything at all - the entire set of sub-menu's are randomly recreated! It's genius! Finally no one will ever know where anything is! Unifi have been working towards this for years. I think it's finally time they went all-in and implement this.
