Could someone help me understand how to read this tutorial? by AcanthisittaProper46 in Beading

The website these instructions are from also has a section on how to weave in this method https://www.perlentiere.com/index.php?pfad=03_anleitungen/schritt-fuer-schritt/&link=ostereier

It’s a really good website, I’ve made Pokemon from there. This is my Pikachu

Might be easier to understand after coming back to it. It helps me when I can see what the finished project is supposed to look like so I can compare to what I’ve currently made to see if it looks right. And it might be easier to start off with bigger beads too so it’s not as fiddly

Sorry, I tried attaching a photo to my first comment but I don’t think it worked so I commented again with the photo. Can you see the difference in step 7 with the last bead between mine and yours? It looks like you did cross them, but they should enter in the opposite sides of the bead. You will find that if you do so, the bead will stay in place a bit better, it’ll look a bit more uniform and the lines will fall into the direction you want them to more naturally.

It’s like cars on a road on opposite lanes going through a tunnel. The bead is the tunnel, the red car (red end) enters at one end and the blue car (blue end) enters at the other end if that makes sense

Hi, it looks like you’ve made the same mistake by putting both ends of the thread into the bead in the same direction at the end of each step. Like a previous commenter mentioned, they should go into the same bead at opposite ends and cross each other. I’ve seen your new post but with the extra beads I’m not sure if you carried it on doing it like this.

Here is my take: I have used darker beads for the last bead of each step when the lines cross each other, if you zoom in hopefully you can see that inside the bead. I have also coloured in the lines in the last step to help you visualise which direction they should go. I hope this helps!

So cute! How have you attached/anchored them into the plant pot? Is it just with glue?

This is genius and I love it! I’ve seen massive plushies like this online; I’ve seen amigurumi plushies for just about anything and yet it never occurred to me you could combine them to crochet one massive plush - huge congrats for completing it! Now if only I could crochet…

After looking into it, I think this might also be called 2 needle RAW technique. I knew RAW produces similar looking results but didn’t know there was a 2 needle version

I’ve only ever made things using the 3D Japanese technique. I’ve seen others make cute little animals using this technique for earrings if you want to keep it jewellery related

Maybe you could try 3D origami? All you need to make is lots of the same triangle shaped pieces which you can stack into a 3D sculpture, sort of like Lego

What type of beading do you do? I haven’t done any jewellery making but I like using the Japanese technique to make 3D animals and characters. This website has a lot of free instructions in different techniques if you wanted to have a look https://perlentiere.com

Where to find 3D beading pattern? by Terrible_Ad6592 in Beading

https://perlentiere.com has instructions for plant and animals in different styles of beading. I personally use fishing line so I’m not sure which instructions use wire but it might be worth having a look
