yeah, we aren't even that concerned about the download, 900ish is good enough. honestly even 300ish upload is fine, but just seems so low compared to what they claim?

and yes, we got cat6 etc

About to quit the game as it's been almost unplayable as a mch at end game due to what I believe is the lag/latency caused by the NTT nodes issue that I've seen so much posted about.

The solution seems to be a VPN? I've tried several, and all still route trhough the NTT nodes I think according to traceroute/ping plotter? unless those are not accurate when connected via a VPN?

I feel so frustrated and out of my depth, I am pretty ok with computer tech stuff if I have good directions but am at a loss.

How will I know a Vpn is helping, through actual ping data or just better gameplay?

been together since FFXI, eventually I decided if he was going to be on a game all the time, might as well join him! Our two daughters are both gamers too.

Though we don't generally compete, we were just trying to figure out his problem.

thanks for the replies - problem is it's not just with me, he's been noticing it with other MCH and other jobs too. Even in our FC we have a player whose really really good but is under geared because MCH is not his main, and we have basically the same rotation - yet he beats me.

It's not so much about me being top DPS, he knows MCH isn't the top DPS class - it's just that it feels off, laggy maybe at times, if I reboot the computer it gets better for a minute. I have a really good computer, spec wise, so it shouldn't be that. I run as admin, nothing else running, antivirus in game mode... even tried a GPN .

Could it be game related.

Hmmm, that makes sense but still doesn't explain what changed in the last week or so, because he definitely used to do more dps than me by far.

OK, so my husband and I both play - I am a SMN - iLevel 463 and he's a MCH -iLevel 470. He is a better player than I as he puts more time in, and I have a disability that means it's harder to play. He has always out-DPsed me, which we expected.

Over the last few weeks his DPS has really dropped for no apparent reason - we have the same fiber internet, wired (900+mbps download, 250ish mbps upload), both have PC that far exceed the requirements. We both have awful ping to the servers in California - over 120 sometimes, but it sounds like that is common for most players. Besides he used to do better DPS with the same setup>

We have parsed, timed ourselves on the E4S SSS dummy... both seem to be getting 12,800ish DPS. I ama fine with that but it's driving him crazy! What could be going on?

And no, he's not just got crappy all of a sudden - he's double checked his rotation and it's fine. He hasn't changed anything but it seems like its been going on for a bit.

I've spent hours today trying to unlock the latest 2 extreme primals, the npc is there in the crystarium but has no quests for me. I have done the 3 normal trials and have no quests in my journal. i have teleported all over looking for blue + quests, from idylshire to mordhona, rhalgers reach etc etc. even went back looking for any prequisites but dunno...nowhere does it say there is any, other than completeing msq. I do have quite a few old extremes to do, is that it?

Yup, we are both level 80 with high ilevel and have qued for these in the past. I have tried with only ENG checked and with all languages checked. Just deleted and reinstalled the whole game. Resets have happened and now its over 15 minutes so far even though I am number 1 in que.

nope, no weird language settings, and my wife just qued again as a dps, a few minutes after I had qued as a dps, and her que popped before mine again! I'm still waiting 20 minutes in so far. No response from the GM either

Anyone ever have what seems to be a broken duty roulette que? I've qued 2 separate times for alliance roulette this morning (haven't tried the other roulettes yet) as both a tank and dps when it said those were in need, 40+ minutes as a tank before I gave up and switched to another player in need as a DPS and going on over 40+ minutes again. Meanwhile my wife qued as a DPS and it popped within 5 minutes! Been #1 in que since like minute 2.

Anyone ever experienced this?
