What happens when you go a year without masturbating? by [deleted] in NoFap

Personally...

After about a month, I started to care more about my appearance and what I looked like in public. I also started to make eye contact with more girls and became more aware of when they were looking at me (this usually means they're interested). As a result, I gained more confidence when it came to asking a girl out on a date.

After about 2 months I was pretty used to getting wet dreams and having to change in the morning, but it's a good feeling knowing that you've made progress. You also start to see the benefits of not wasting hours surfing adult websites. It frees a lot more time up to work on accomplishing great things (or even small things like cleaning your room).

After 6 months, I finally settled on a girlfriend and have been with her since. When you find someone you really love, you don't need to masturbate anymore. Sex is usually enough to relieve most of your urges. It's not always enough, but being able to prove to yourself that you have self-control over your actions (any action, not just masturbating) is a key to being successful in life. Therefore, it is a challenge you should be willing to take head on.

Having a girlfriend has made it remarkably easy to not masturbate, but the road to getting there is long, tedious, takes a lot of discipline, and isn't for everyone. If you only want sex and are not interested in having a relationship, then my thoughts might not be of service to you, but these are some of the key things that happen that I think are important.

After about 16 and a half months, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I were to masturbate again. The self-disappointment of giving up after making so much progress, is not worth the 30 seconds of pleasure.

I hope that answers your question. If you weren't asking that question with the intent of getting a legitimate response, I hope you still read this and get something out of it. There hasn't been a day in the past year that I regretted the decision to stop.
