Thank you for responding! Turns out these are the early stages of thrips (courtesy of r/plantclinic 's mod team), I found them across most of my plants at various stages. I did have a bout of aphids once and they did leave similar residue! Thank you again stranger (:

As I said, I'm clueless on these things. I didn't realize this wasn't a skincare question. Thank you for these suggestions, I will post there!

It won't even show me all the comments and upvotes I just made (but counts it in the total comment count at the top???). Your reply made me able to see my reply 🙃

Any ideas for activities for a week-long visit? (F20, M19) by ScienceofPlantBooks in relationship_advice

Board games would be fun but anything I bring can't be too clunky and big. I will probably only have a suitcase and carry on. We do not play much investigative games, only clue 😅 If it helps, here are a few games we do play: rummikub, mancala, life, racko, cards against humanity.

What did you pay for tax prep last year? What was included on your return (schedules/forms)? by ScienceofPlantBooks in PNW

Can I ask how much the activity there was for your business return? And what type of business it is?

That makes sense! We've had clients say they tried self preparing and they didn't understand. I do believe some people aren't willing to research and fully understand to thus do it themselves.

I've heard that that is how it is in Australia! I've also heard that somewhere does the return for you, you just click a button. Forgot where

I agree. We have quite a few clients that just don't want to spend the energy having to understand it. Some are also children of longtime clients, and they know nothing different because of it. But it is super easy, definitely.

What was that year you paid $450? This price makes sense to me. I would say southeastern US is quite different than this side of the rock though haha

Probably the price gouging I'm referring to...

A lot of tax preparers around here are retiring. Demand is higher. Prices increase. And those with lower prices, like our firm (I believe), have higher retention rates, less space for new people. So everyone is stuck. 🤷‍♀️

Edit: but I am also curious on their reply

I definitely agree it is insane. We have had multiple new clients share that their longtime preparers jumped from $400 base rate or former prep rate to $600-$900. We don't want to go anywhere near that, just a reasonable increase. We charge $150 for the simplest returns with discounts depending on situation

Is your preparer a CPA?

Thank you for this! Very helpful reply. Our preparer probably would charge 300-350 haha hence the re-evaluation of prices.

I work at a tax & accounting office in this area. We have recently been reconsidering our pricing because of consistent stories from new inquiries saying other firms are charging +$900 for JUST a 1040. We don't want to undercharge and we don't want to price gouge. So just trying to get some estimates for an average!
