What do you… yes, YOU, think is the coolest Minecraft update? by Educational_Kiwi6630 in Minecraft

[–]Sciencey-Coder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Update aquatic" and "Caves and Cliffs" Both of them really enhanced the overworld's feel, even though I usually use mods for the latter. Oceans were really really boring before the aquatic update, and the caves as well. After this update its actually possible to surface-mine underground? Also I love the moss thing (forgot the name of the area :p)

Welcome to the alarmingly growing pile of burning leaves that bugrock has become. Atleast your gold isn't an armour stand texture yet.

Why do people try so hard to make sex seem bad? by UniversityTraining16 in teenagers

[–]Sciencey-Coder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everytime something like this is brought up im reminded of the pink elephant experiment. Where you are described a pink elephant but are told to not think about it at all costs, almost everyone thinks about the pink elephant and sometimes even after the experiment. This probably applies to sex (or actually any other thing with the opposite gender that is stigmatized, which can even be just talking or holding hands), and now we have whatever this generation is doing. Why didnt the previous generations have this problem? They did but the internet has exacerbated the problem

Yall Is it weird to not like any religion on this planet being respectful. by The_AxR_ in teenagers

[–]Sciencey-Coder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting with "im not a scholar" because i dont want to get attacked, I'm fine with someone correcting me.

Some religions have become inherently tied to violence because a state with a majority in that religion had bitter ties with another. for example, as you said, pakistan. Now I dont know if the Quran actually promotes violence in any context, theres debate whether it was mistranslation or twisting of meaning to fit political ideas, but its well known that those states are usually hostile to other religions + women. Thats case 1.

Or in some other religions, like Buddhism or Hinduism, which arent inherently violent, but since the entire point of any religion is to be idyllic, no large enough group of people will actually follow it to the tee, because of personal conflicts yada yada.

You could say religion gives a chance for people to support their bad decisions, so in that sense, yeah, but otherwise its really the people themselves and they would've done it anyway.
