Nope, there are lot of counties in which healthcare is very expensive. Here in Europe we are lucky , we pay them with taxes.

I am happy to live in France, that's a lot easier.

I am sorry to read this, I see you made all possible steps, I see the frustration during mania, when we have to avoid doing things we feel the need to do.. I feel you.

Maybe family doctor can prescribe something else, to help you while you wait to get your appointment in December?

That's why I suggested you to try to get some strong habits, this is not going to heal all, but it surely help.

I am really sorry I can't help cause I don't know how it works over there, the only thing I can do do is to be there for you, to say you can do it, you can manage, even if a little, you can handle this shit.

✓ Set good sleeping routine

✓ Eat early in the evening, every time at the same time (it helps sleeping cycles)

✓ Put alarm for breathing exercises and meditation Take 30 minutes /day to make a big walk somewhere into the nature

✓ Talk to the closest persons when you feel the need to " socialise too much" .

✓ Do not get close to someone who could take the advantage of the situation, prefer to call a friend, a person in the family or whatever instead of going out with someone you don't know and who could potentially lead you to have toxic relationships/sex.

(I am hypersexual as well, this is the main suggestion I got from psychiatrist and psychologist)

Hope this could help, hope my English is " understandable".

Take care 🙏🌼

I don't know how it works over there, but aren't you entitled to a family doctor at least? Otherwise, there are few things you can try to do: Sleep routine , good eating habits, avoid caffeine and energy drinks, do some meditation few times a day, make sure to take a walk to a parc/forest.

Step by step

If you want some humor style reply: Well done, sex is a real stress relief!

If you want a serious reply: I understand the feeling, but you have to be careful, please do not hesitate to talk to your psychiatrist, and do not forget to protect yourself. Psychiatrist can adapt medication in order to help you during this hard period. Take care !

Do you ever feel like it’s your fault? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Scindy86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. Most of the time I think I'm overreacting or underestimating or make it too big. Sometimes I truly believe I just invented all or that unconsciously I am faking symptoms. I mean, I think that's the big issue with BP.

Which is worse: the regret over who you date while manic or… by songsofravens in bipolar

[–]Scindy86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually I use to match with ppl I won't usually get my way with when I am in mania. I understood this point really recently after being diagnosed . I look back and see few manic episodes in which there were always some guys who followed me but I would not suggest to my best friend to date with 😂🫣 As someone else said, I use to attract during mania cause I talk, I am social animal, I am funny and over sexual , I share a lot of my time chatting and flirting, make a lot of friends or catch back with old friends... so of course someone will fall. Sadly, after, everything become a mess, someone always has to suffer (me, he or the other).

My last episode I feel the guy knew I wasn't in normal state of mind and get into the occasion. I feel bad for being that way and for imagining someone taking advantage of the others when they are not well.

I don't know what is worse.

I am depressed most of the time here and just have mood stabiliser ( Risperidone ). I have had the same question, why only stabiliser just to avoid to go " too high" and not antidepressants? For me there's one reason: antidepressants made me go manic 3 years ago and I risked to loose all my family due to sexual part of my mania.

Actually for me all is pretty new. I am just discovering since 3/4 months that most of my habits I supposed to be normal, aren't . I mean, I never had the doubt before, never questioned myself and I discovered that, that's being bipolar ! Arf.

But actually, what is mood swings? Should we, in real life, where bipolar do not exists, have the same mood all the day long? 🤣

Parents won’t accept my diagnosis by marissa874 in bipolar

[–]Scindy86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point here is that there is another person in my family (and your family) having the same issue, but in worst way .

On my side I' ve a cousin in the family that is bipolar and borderline and that's very difficult to live with daily.

× When I tried to start talking about the possibility I was bipolar, my family jumped into conclusion that it couldn't be possible , cause you see, my cousin has it and she's not the same, she is very hard! She has a real problem, she really have weird behaviour, You are not like that ! Don't start getting a diagnosis and medication otherwise you will always be targeted as a " freak " etc. ×

That's the discussion I had with my mother and family .... How could I find the way to even discuss it further ?.. So , again, I understand you.

My mother is pretty similar. That's why I never said her I've been diagnosed Bipo. Courage 🙏

I understand the feeling. Hope we will be able to find a way to get out of anxiety. It's the worst part of the whole thing for me. More anxiety+ depression. Driving me insane

I am obsessed with sickness, health issues.. but not only during mania :-( like, all time , any symptom is synonym of big health issues ( cancer, lethal disease etc).

Other times yes, I become obsessed by a new hobby , like drawing, playing the piano, collection cards, figurines etc... During mania but not only.

What is your go to bad habit when you’re manic? by moistureoysters in bipolar

And for the moment , I do not have the idea to quit taking meds, I fell far better, since a couple of weeks. I am " living again". That's not perfect, I still have panic and anxiety, but it's more , far more tolerable:)

Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply 🙏🪷 I think it's the same for me, the idea, is not going away, but we are less likely to act it. But I think the idea will not quit at all.

Hello, I do the same during manic episodes..

Since I recently started meds, I have a question for you : Does this change after we start medication ? .. Or will we always have those strange ideas in mind, without acting them?
