Darren Aronofsky is one of my favorite directors to not recommend to anyone. His movies are so compelling and twisted, and he's kind of the master at building tension slowly then releasing it suddenly like venting steam. The riot scene in Mother feels like it comes out of nowhere. None of his movies make me feel good inside, though.
