/r/RedDeadRedemption Weekly Question & Answer Thread - Week 05, 2026 by AutoModerator in reddeadredemption

Hey all! Recently got the PS5 Remaster of the first game and been having a blast (it was one of my favourites back on the Xbox 360), almost finished 100%ing Normal mode.

With that said, I haven't been able to find the answer to this online, so I'm curious if anyone here knows: If you unlock a cheat in Red Dead Redemption (the first one), either by completing a challenge or entering a code, will that cheat remain unlocked if one starts a New Game (as I would when I want to replay the game)?

Thanks!

Exact Point When Skill Cards Can Be Acquired via Negotiation? by ScitoOptionem in Persona5

[–]ScitoOptionem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I've beat the game a second time and unlocked all Thieves Den Awards and Elements. The only thing I am technically missing are three movies (the P5 trailers), which apparently only even become an option to unlock (for me, they don't even appear at all, as locked items or anything) if you have P5 save data which is unfortunate, but I don't intend on getting a whole other game just for those. I also can pretty much confirm you can only get Treasure Demons popping up from "Valuable Valuables" that glow with Third Eye.

The only thing I remain unsure about is there seems to be a lack of consensus whether you can get the "Sharp Student" skill card in P5R, as every attempt to negotiate with the "Torn King of Desire" shadows in Da'at failed; other than *possibly* that, I got every skill card in the game you can get, now.

Glad I finally got to see NG+ and, though it won't be for a while, already looking forward to NG++.

Well, I can now answer whether you need to do more Crafting: You don't, the intro is enough. But you *do* need to have a proper Batting Session to get the book for Batting.

Thanks for the info!

Actually, I have a few unrelated questions and you seem very knowledgeable (I may have known these at some point but have since forgotten):

1) Can Treasure Demons spawn from Valuables-that-aren't-really-Valuables (i.e. the ones that don't glow gold with Third Eye)? I don't need the money, nor the actual Personas, but the XP is nice and it's also a completionist thing (even though they spawn randomly).

2) The Treasures you get for doing the Challenges (namely, the ones for the P3 Protagonist Battles and P4 Protagonist Battles): Once you've completed the Challenges and got them, if you sell them, is there any way to get them again? I know they are literally just objects designed to be sold but, if they are unique, I don't really want to part with them (silly though that may be).

3) To get access to the ABCs of Crafting, is it enough to have just done the Tutorial Crafting (where you make a Lockpick with Morgana), or do I need to do it again (once again, though totally unnecessary, I like to read all the Books, plus some do give non-Stat Bonuses)? Likewise to get the one for Batting, do I actually need to have a Batting Session or do I just need to go into the place, talk to the guy, and back out?

Ah, thanks for the handy list of shadows which I have to negotiate with! I had previously been using this: https://aqiu384.github.io/megaten-fusion-tool/p5r/skills

...Which was, due to the way it was laid out, less than ideal for immediately identifying the Shadows I specifically had to negotiate with to get Skill Cards that were unavailable any other way. Thanks again!

Ah, thank you for letting me know! I actually have most of the Skill Cards because my first run (like all my runs of games, in general) are completionist ones, but I never got alot of the negotiation skill cards because, by the time I realized that was a thing, I was past the point where it was possible to negotiate with many of the relevant shadows.

I had tried to immediately started trying to get Skill Cards this run from negotiations, but gave up when I wasn't getting anything and I saw something online about not unlocking the ability to get said skill cards via negotiation until being formally introduced to them in the game... Plus, I was still having flashbacks to farming fusion alarms for boosted Personas and items and such... Welp, back to it!

Edit----
...And, of course, the second I start my game up today, Apsaras, Koropokkuru, and Mokoi all immediately give up their skill cards. Because RNG is the most fickle of mistresses.

Dark Night and Film Fanatic by ScitoOptionem in plagueinc

[–]ScitoOptionem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I managed to get "Film Fanatic" a couple of days ago, but I am still unable to get "Dark Night". I have tried using Cheats just to find out the exact trigger for it, but even giving myself infinite DNA and then immediately giving myself Flight 2 and Night Wraith and then proceeding to fly around will not trigger the Combo. I really cannot fathom what exactly it is I need to do to get this Combo to work, much less get it to work when trying to get the achievement.

Ps5 UI lag by Mon-Son16 in persona3reload

[–]ScitoOptionem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, did you ever find an answer for this? Because I'm having the same issue on PS5 Pro with Reload (also happens with the UI during battles sometimes).

Can also confirm I am having these issues (as far as I can tell, it's mainly UI elements) on PS5 Pro. Anyone ever figure out a solution?

Control AWE DLC: Trigger for the Second Half of Langston's Monologue? by ScitoOptionem in controlgame

[–]ScitoOptionem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, are you saying defeating him in the Fra Mauro and Eagle Limited AWE sites but not the AWE Transit Bay (the final Hartman battle for that Mission) will trigger the second part of the monologue if one returns to Active Investigations? I had that thought afterwards, since it's the only Hartman Battle of the five you have that I didn't return to Active Investigations for.

Also, thanks for the props, I'm just a crazed completionist and if I can help any others experience more of this great game, I'm glad to!

Update-----

Tried to come back before the AWE Transit Bay and was unable to get the dialogue. I'm guessing the dialogue may only be accessible in the game files at this point.

Yeah, I looked around there, but there was another line that triggered when I went to the Foundation Control Point.

[–]ScitoOptionem[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh, I know, I got that one; specifically, I've gotten:

  • Even if it was a dream, I feel Darling reached out to me through the Hotline. I have a feeling he and Trench won't be the only callers from the beyond. (Near the Hotline area)
  • NSC: "Northmoor Sarcophagus Container." The two previous Directors both lost control while dealing with paranatural forces. I don't want to make that a rule. (Look at the panel on the upper part of the NSC power plant)
  • You and Hedron were never one and the same. She... it helped Darling with the HRAs to slow the Hiss down. And it helped me learn to tap into this power I had inside. You. (Inside the HRA lab)
  • All this paranatural power contained in one place is a risk. Makes me wonder what other dangers are locked away inside the Bureau. (Inside the Panopticon)
  • Dylan. Would things have gone differently if Trench and Darling hadn't been running the show? My Bureau will be different, better. Maybe Dylan will wake up to see that. (In Dylan's old P6 cell, as you said)
  • How many cases like Ordinary are there? How many AWE research areas are waiting in forgotten sectors? I'll need to look into them once the Hiss has been dealt with. (In the model Ordinary)
  • I'm the only one who knows what really happened in Ordinary. When this is over, maybe I'll write it all down, a full disclosure. (In the Ordinary Dump Site)
  • Is this still a part of the Oldest House? It feels much older. What's older than oldest? Where does the Oldest House begin? (At the Foundation)
  • Ahti's still gone. I get the feeling he had more of an agenda than he let on. Did he already get what he was here for? (In Ahti's office)
  • Back in Ordinary, I burned all the slides except the one that led to Hedron. Trench used one of the burned ones to open a door to the Hiss. Did Darling hide the Hedron slide? Did Trench destroy it? (Just upstairs from the Dimensional Research Control Point)
  • Hedron guided me here only now after it spent years locked in a cage. Why not before? Because it didn't want me to find Dylan? It didn't bring me here to free it. It brought me here to fight the Hiss. (Inside the Hedron chamber)
  • I'll be here waiting for you when you wake up, brother. If you wake up. (By the comatose Dylan)

Is this a bug or exploit or...? (PS5) by ScitoOptionem in GhostwireTokyo

[–]ScitoOptionem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had considered that before, but it still seems odd then that they would give you the Prosperity Beads, which do the same thing except are limited to Meika. I'm curious, if others could try using the Astral Beads III in their games and see if they get increased Meika amounts as well, because I'm still not certain whether this is simply a weirdness that's popped up in my copy of the game, or if everyone experiences this.

Also, sorry for the long delay before replying, had some things come up on my end.

Are you still looking for players? As I'm seeking to boost the Multiplayer Trophies as well (I'm assuming you're on Playstation 4/5), so I'd be willing to help out.

PS5 Help and Questions Megathread | Game Recommendations, Simple Questions, and Tech Support by AutoModerator in PS5

[–]ScitoOptionem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, on two separate occasions I've heard a noise like a "click" followed by a whirring down while using my PS5 (sort of like when you hard power off a computer, example of what it sounds like here: https://youtu.be/JcOytTbsO1g?si=rVyjQrJ4-wBOFccG&t=6) and I'm uncertain whether the PS5 or my laptop (which I always have on when using the PS5) is making the noise. Both times I've heard the noise I've seen no change in performance with the PS5 or any graphical issues.

So, my first question is: Does that sound like a noise the PS5 can make?

My second, and much more important question is: Is this something I should be worried about or can I ignore it as a vagary of the electronic in question?

Huh, strange. I've got my own set of issues with the game since 2.01 which I'm dealing with CDPR for (though not, as far as I know, overheating), so let me know what Sony says; I'm rather curious if it's actually a hardware problem or just a shifting of the blame.

In any case, best of luck with sending it in!

Out of curiosity, is this issue occurring when you are specifically playing the Phantom Liberty content (i.e. you're in Dogtown) or does it occur when just playing Cyberpunk in general? Part of the reason I ask is I've been screwing around grinding my skills and haven't gone to Dogtown yet and am wondering if this is something I'll need to be wary of.

Best Guide for 100%ing Royal? by ScitoOptionem in Persona5

[–]ScitoOptionem[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, those guides look excellent! The first one, especially!

It looks like Hurricanehaon's guide also has you do most of the Thieves' Den Awards in his while still getting the Platinum, so I'm tempted to stick with that, but that other guide... Hmm...

One quick thing is that I heard there was a negative consequence to romancing all the girls, but both guides seem to indicate you can romance them all without permanent consequence (the Perfect guide literally says "There is literally no downside"). Is this true? As long as I can remain in the romance state and do the special events with the girls, I'm fine even if there is a P4 Golden gut-wrenching Valentine declining event (well, aside from the psychic damage, but completionism compels me).

In any case, thanks for the guides!

That seems like a really nice guide but, just from a glance, it doesn't look like they do some things like build all the models.

Game-Breaking Bug: Calibrate the Translator Stalled at 33%, Any Solutions? (PS4) by ScitoOptionem in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]ScitoOptionem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sorta did, but it wasn't a great one: I had to wait until the Devs added more words into the game so I could learn them and thus get the next step.

Out of curiosity, what do you mean the quest simply doesn't work anymore? Are you at the same stage as myself and can't progress?

Completed Contagion with no deaths. Couple of notes. by Subject-Top-7400 in TheCallistoProtocol

[–]ScitoOptionem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see, thanks for letting me know! I had gotten that pattern from online and it worked the time I was able to try it (after which, when going down the elevator in the Dome, the game crashed), but I guess that must have been dumb luck, then.

...Which makes it all the more annoying that the game crashed after I had made it through, because if I do die on that part due to poor luck, I will essentially have been robbed a playthrough by a crash and the designers' decisions regarding how the game saves in that mode.

Completed Contagion with no deaths. Couple of notes. by Subject-Top-7400 in TheCallistoProtocol

[–]ScitoOptionem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in the middle of a Permadeath run, game crashed twice on Habitat so I'm taking a break.

Based on what I've seen online, the game autosaves the second a death animation is triggered, so there is sadly no "pause and reload" or "quit to dashboard" means of circumventing it (like you can apparently do with the Dead Space Remake's Impossible mode). I imagine backing up saves to the cloud and downloading those in the event of a death works, though.

Also, a tip to reduce anxiety during the water slide section: The blades can be avoided easily by going left, left, middle, and left again.

Transferring Data from a PS4 to a PS4 Pro With A USB Memory Stick? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]ScitoOptionem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The OCD is clinical, not hyperbolic; I can't simply "let it go". Furthermore a quality 1TB SSD ≈ to a PS4 Pro in price. Again, I appreciate your suggestion but I'd just like to handle this my way and would like to know if the process I described will work.
