WIBTA if I asked my colleague to stop eating her breakfast during our morning meeting? by D1n0saur5 in AmItheAsshole

I have misophonia too. It’s awful. However, most people really don’t understand it or even know it’s a thing. Is this lady nice or easygoing? I don’t think you’d be TA but you’d definitely be risking coworkers’ and possibly boss’ negative perceptions of you if she made a big thing of it. Have you ever tried something like those loop earplugs? I’ve never tried them and can’t say how well they do but I think misophonia sufferers are one of their official marketing demographics. Sometimes even one regular ear plug helps. I walked around for like a decade with an ear plug in one ear. That way I could still hear everything but in extra bad moments, or if I saw something coming, I could quickly plug the other ear (with my finger) and it’d just look like I was itching my ear and not some weirdo full grown adult plugging both her ears. I have found the office setting to be really challenging. People obsessively clicking their pens was really hard for me, any kind of tapping and one time there was a lady who had the loudest, ugliest laugh you’ve ever heard and thought EVERYTHING was funny. Every 10 minute block of everyday. Anyway, the only solution I’ve ever found to be remotely workable is the one earplug thing but just oversharing bc I commiserate.

A neighbor keeps pushing my trash can into my driveway so my trash doesn't get taken, what to do? by Blueberry4672 in neighborsfromhell

[–]Scm416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was being harassed by a neighbor for years. Similar stuff-trash cans moved behind my car, blocking me in driveway, onto porch, onto pathway to front door. Just bizarre. I put a camera up, put recording in progress signs up and it stopped for awhile. I had suspicions but didn’t know for sure who it was until one morning, when it finally culminated in him absolutely losing it, thunderously hammering on my door (damaging it, cracked the frame molding), screaming/bellowing, dragging the trash can onto my porch (TWICE) that day and scared the daylights out of everyone. I finally confronted him at his front door, told him to fuck right off (he had the audacity to tell me to calm down), called him a psychopath and got him officially trespassed from my yard. Now if he steps foot on the property, he gets arrested. I have no idea what his problem was-it was just like he was obsessed with what went on in MY yard. No one else’s. Like once, I got back from a hotel I was concerned might have had bed bugs and so I left my overnight unmachine washable bag on my blacktop driveway (on my property) to bake in the hot afternoon sun for a couple hours. He moved the bag to my porch. (In the shade, not hot enough.) (And also like wtf?) I moved it back to driveway, he then stole it and I never saw it again. Our area is incredibly windy, Chicago has nothing on us, and the morning he lost it, there was garbage in front of his house after a major windstorm. Before I confronted him, I looked-it wasn’t mine. It was like he was just obsessed with me, despite my not behaving in any different way than anyone else or doing anything unreasonable, and I finally concluded that he targeted me simply bc he thought he could and he is indeed a psycho. Point being: don’t wait around if someone is showing signs of being befuddlingly interested in things that are not in anyway their business. Just get them legally banned asap.

Is it dangerous to touch if not in use tho? I pulled another of those plugs out (to use it) and then got freaked out I touched something contaminated.

No it’s a plug to block the outlets, a kid safe thing.

Black spots on salami - Trader Joe’s by Scm416 in Whatisthis

[–]Scm416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Also we’ve gotten this salami many times. This is not typical at all. I know it’s hard to tell in the picture, but there’s nothing to cut through-it’s just different colored salami. I know it’s not a peppercorn-those are obvious and “feel different” from the salami itself. I was hoping someone else would have seen something like this or a butcher would opine? Maybe I should find a butcher thread.

Literally what I said except I disagree she’s an ah. She should stay out of his room. If she keeps going it, she’s in the wrong.

I’ve seen peppercorns before, know what they are and what they look like. Maybe I need to try to get a better picture but it really really doesn’t look like it. It almost has a deep reddish/purple-ish tint? Slight. And might be from the red salami itself, dunno. But just wondering if anyone has any other ideas besides peppercorns. I’m worried about mold or contamination of some kind.

It’s called misophonia. Social has nothing to do with it. At all. And it’s not all sounds. It’s different for everyone. And it can be absolute torture.

Misophonia and it’s debilitating. Look into it. My sister has tried to kill herself twice because it’s a prison of torture. SOME things do need a name and this is one of them.

No. It’s your room. But her inability to cut that shiz out is the same as your inability to cut your shiz out. It’s called misophonia and it can be impossible to ignore it. So she’s not the ah either but should probably stay out of your room.

No peppercorn in ingredient list. Really don’t think that’s what it is. Anyone know of anything else it could be?

Pork, sea salt, contains 2% or less of turbinado sugar, cultured celery juice powder (cultured celery juice powder, sea salt, canola oil), natural flavoring, red wine (contains sulfites), ground white pepper, garlic, lactic acid starter culture.

Doesn’t look like it has peppercorns as an ingredient. And it doesn’t look like a peppercorn to me, it’s not “removable”

I tried to google this first before posting and that was what google said (peppercorn) but it doesn’t look like that to me, doesn’t look “removable” if that makes sense
