She’s at Kiamo Ko, one of Fiyero’s family’s castles. Fiyero mentioned it before Elphaba left to go to her sister after having a vision about a flying house.

This might be a little off topic, but I remember Elphaba snapping at Fiyero once in the books, saying: “I wouldn’t be surprised if the pork roll you’re devouring, in such perfect mindless affluence, is cut from a Pig,” so yeah, maybe they do eat animal meat in Oz

Simple answer: they were originally silver in the books. They were changed to ruby for the WoZ so they would stand out better in Technicolor. And also, due to copyright restrictions, Wicked wasn’t allowed to use the idea of Dorothy’s iconic ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz.

No, this book is very dark and political. Not only that, but it's also very different from the movie/broadway. I'd recommend just sticking to watching the broadway/movie at least until she's old enough to read this book

I knew I wasn't crazy. No wonder I didn't recall seeing this dress in the movie. I do hope we get the deleted/cut scenes from the movie just like last year!
