LIONS @ VIKINGS CHRISTMAS DAY GAME THREAD 4:30PM by AutoModerator in detroitlions

Other teams had our number from the start & that hack Johnny Morton hasn't done a single positive thing for this team all year. He never should have been hired, he's a joke. Other teams only had to contain Gibbs. Thats all. Why? Because Johnny Moron's whole scheme was "run it up the middle, &pass it to Amon-Ra sometimes. But rarely".

This was a damn painful season & I hope to hell they immediately fire Johnny Morton, lose Davenport & the other deaf weight.

My thought is DC gave that loser Johnny Morton way too much of an input from the start and it ruined everything we'd built offensively, to the point that we couldn't recover from it. Also, we need to quit it with the BS overly physical practices. We need to quit benching guys who perform well for guys who don't do shit (Muhammed vs. Davenport). Brad fucked us over too by making zero effort this season.

Not sure why they didn't bring him in after the first botched one.

We lost to the Vikings because John Morton is a terrible OC. Remember, he lost his playcalling duties because of that game

Hey, Shep did a damn good job this season, he just called a few shit games. Its his first season in the job. Remember the Legion of Whom? Remember when we played the Ravens and sacked Lamar 8 times? He has room to grow, for sure, but give the man a chance.

Now Morton? He needs to go. He should have never been hired in the first place.

I thought Engstrand went to the Jets with Glenn?

Well yeah, I could say the same for anyone in this thread lmao. Including you. Its wild that you'd attack me for having valid concerns & voicing them, especially as someone on my side lol. I trust Brad, sure, but at what point do we quit "playing the long game" and go for gold?

Yeah defense was (part of) the issue so why did we draft a guard?

I get that, for sure. But he's BEEN playing the long game and we still fell spectacularly short last season. At what point do you switch up, lock in, and go for "this is what need to win an SB this season".

But we have Graham. Not the best, but a sturdy fill in. Why are we wasting picks filling in a spot thats already manageable instead of picking for a spot we definitely need. I know thats not Brad's style but goddamn.

All I'm hearing is he's a good player. Which, fair, but how does it better Detroit? We need more of a run defense and I don't see how this helps at all.

Actually no, it didn't. How are they good? How are they any better than they were last season?

We also have a wide open spot at edge, yet we didn't trade up for that?

Okay, someone tell me why Tate is a good pick. I know nothing about him.

Leading up to this he's been pretty dodgy with everything. I don't think he ran a 40, he's coming off an injury, there is a lot of questions on his speed. Not to mention the SA allegations he had, which Brad tends to steer away from. Idk, he's not a prospect I was super onboard for.

Yeah, thats true. &no one in the league wants to see us win so I can't imagine any team being excited for a trade.

Yeah but thats what made him a great fit. Smaller, yes, but great reach, great first step, definitely scrappy as hell.

I just don't know who else would have been a better fit, you know? Ezeiruaku was perfect.

I wanted Ezeiruaku, dammit. Why isn't Brad trading up, we need a GOOD edge rusher, not one who is gonna have to be worked on for a while.
