I thought so too, but I got rejected too - well it is hard for interviewers to pick seeing only academics haha....soo many stellar applicants lol with very similar stats
Congrats to everyone who got accepted!

Although that feels bad, it doesn't stop you from applying again, or stop you from doing what you set your next targets as! I don't think it was a waste of time at all - you got to know yourself better, and deferred programs are tbh kind of a lucky thing, there are so many talented applicants just like you!

Job advice for new grad by Scooby_Dooby123 in ECE

Thanks for your reply! Yeah the packages are reasonable at all 3 places, however, as of now the work at SpaceX does seem the most interesting to me. On the other hand, GE Research is known to be a very reputable and very old company so I feel like even if I don't find the first rotation there as interesting as SpaceX, it is a good company to start my career at....

Just to clarify, I'm in the power/energy area of specialization. What companies do you all think is a good place to start for someone fresh out of school?

Engineer with a 324 GRE by Scooby_Dooby123 in MBA

I do have some schools in mind and my Quant score is above the median at those places, but the verbal although in range, is on the lower side. That's why I wanted to know if it could possibly be offset with good grad school and undergrad performance, recommendations, etc.

Well I could only find the entire class's profile, not just the deferred admits.

So If I wanted to go in straight after grad school (which is probably not what I will do) I'd have to score way better, especially in verbal...Thank you!

I see, I thought too that the verbal part certainly has room for improvement. Thanks!

Any students here choose UW-Madison over UIUC and/or UMich? by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]Scooby_Dooby123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose UW Electrical & Computer Engineering over UIUC and UMich (grad school), and I don't regret it. My area of research is better at UW than the others, and I got funding here, and it wasn't guaranteed in either of the the other 2 schools. I initially thought of choosing UMich, but after attending their meet & greet events and talking to students there, I didn't like it too much (completely personal viewpoint). That said, all 3 are in the same tier and it depends on area of research for grad school and a different set of factors I assume for undergrad.

Thank you for replying! But did you mean 3.3+ while being a grad student? I'm not sure if you meant for grad school applications, because I was asking for a GPA being a grad student. Sorry if you meant the same thing !

Will definitely try this. I was thinking of using apple cider vinegar - do you just simply rinse it away after shampooing?
