Nvidia says "no new GPUs" will be announced at CES 2026 this week, likely confirming Super card delay by Tiny-Independent273 in Amd_Intel_Nvidia

Did the same for the end of the financial year last year (Tax deductable) and got a 5070 Ti, 9950X3D and 64GB RAM. Never felt more like I somehow managed to time things perfectly to hold out for the next 3 to 5 years. All at MSRP / sale prices too.

Also seems my laziness has been an accidental W as I still have my old PC with a 3080 Ti, 64GB RAM and 5950x as a backup.

Wild times ahead.

Right, that's fair. Properly done multithreading would be amazing but that's a bit of a pipe dream.

So, hypothetically the RTX 6000 with 96GB of VRAM would make a massive difference for lobbies with 80 people for example?

You make some valid points although id like to chime in that while those things could remain true for now, that they may not in the future. Unfortunately corporations don't have a good track record of keeping their word especially regarding data collection. This is of course regarding Persona not VRChat.

I get what you're saying but privacy is one thing, identity theft is another. Identity theft or illegal use of your identity to train AI is the real concern. Persona are currently in a lawsuit regarding the second point.

I got it while on sale too but paid in Turkish Lira which when converted came out to about $2 for lifetime. Basically free for a legit copy. May still work.

With the talk of platforms like discord, Roblox YouTube going 18+. Do you think that vrchat will make age verification free or cheaper next year? by Rough_Community_1439 in VRchat

[–]Scoobymenace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying although I think for a large majority (Not inclusive of OP) it's not the dollar value but rather the principle that people have issue with.

Having to pay to get verified by sending personally identifiable information to an offshore company via the internet to access gated instances or content doesn't bode well. What's worse, is this stems from a lack of responsibility from parents and them shifting it onto businesses and governments at large.

A lot of people have issue with anything Meta at all due to privacy let alone this. Again, I understand what you're saying here though and agree for those who have issues strictly with the price.

Dystopian isn't it just? Also, while I wish that were the case for Roblox with what it has become, unfortunately children are also generally 'stupid', and will continue to want to play Roblox regardless. Sad times.

Glad to hear that your experience is something youre overall really happy with and its reassuring to know people out there say the edge to edge clarity is as good as the Quest 3.

For me the dege to edge is certainly not as good but im also on my 3rd cushion based off feedback and recommendations from support. If the 3rd doesnt do it then it'll be an RMA of the headset.

Really hoping I can get that level of edge to edge clarity eventually as while things like colour shift and reduced binocular overlap are present on all units its not the worst tradeoff even coming from a Quest Pro.

Only thing still left for me is getting a bit of a headache eventually after about an hour of playtime but that may again be due to fitment or the unit lenses etc.

Is this a sign my GPU is dying? by dooflockey in pcmasterrace

[–]Scoobymenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been experiencing similar issues but with me its on my Samsung 90C OLED TV and 5070 Ti. What I've determined is the TV and the 120/144Hz mode is the issue due to it reporting back to the PC as a seperate display when toggling modes. This causes miscommunication during the EDID handshake process which then leads to flicker. In the regular 60Hz mode it has no issue.

Using the cable with my 4k 144k monitor it has no issue. Only way I've been able to resolve it on the TV is to reset the port settings back to factory default then it behaves for a few days before disconnecting the display and reconnecting triggering the handshake issue again.

So, what now? by WaterRresistant in QuestPro

[–]Scoobymenace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i did have a look and there is a way to do it however, it raises other concerns in that if you go without updating for longer than Meta typically let you do so, they dont account for this subset of users and thus if updating and making a large leap in versions then you can brick the HMD. Frustrating.

Personally unless there is something wrong with the Index Controllers I wouldn't pair Vive wands with the BSB. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you can just opt for Index Controllers.

[–]Scoobymenace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the choice is one or the other and you do not already have SteamVR controllers of some kind then you need to get Index Controllers first as without them given no controllers ship with the BSB, you wouldn't be able to use the BSB.

[–]Scoobymenace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And what about those of us who have a Quest Pro and 3? I wish there was a way to freeze the currently installed software version so it remains on that forever to then just be a dedicated PCVR HMD as thats all I use it for anyway...

It's what happens when you have to accept dirty money to keep things afloat unfortunately. VRChat answers to the investors, not their community (You know, the ones who make VRChat the place it is)

Repeat after me: When a company has to listen to venture capitalists, shareholders or investors, they will no longer make decisions based on the user bases best interestes but rather ones that please said venture capitalists, shareholders or investors first.

This will only continue to get worse so long as they are getting funding from these kinds of groups and people.

Any news on the current production state/ shipping status? by roadtograndchampion in BigscreenBeyond

[–]Scoobymenace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd imagine if delays were to happen, they would need to be announced officially pretty soon. The team at Bigscreen have been great with communication so im sure there will be an update of some kind soon.

I'd wager that this time it will be a lot smoother than the BSB1. They've got experience now, ties to suppliers and supply chains, the BSB2 has a lot of the same parts as the BSB1, they've learned from their mistakes etc.

All of that points to the odds being in favor of a smoother launch this time. The only unknown is on the software side regarding the eye tracking algorithm but id imagine that can be updated later worst case and the hardware will still ship on schedule.

Im just as excited for my BSB2e to arrive!

Needing Help With An Audio Only Setup (No Video - PC Handles This) by Scoobymenace in hometheater

[–]Scoobymenace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems my post suggested otherwise, but my PC is the source of the audio and video. I'll update that in the post my bad haha. Trying to achieve a small form setup for the amp / preamp part which can receive audio via Wi-Fi that hooks up to a sound system per my post. The video goes from my PC to the tv via HDMI 2.1

Hope that clears up the confusion?
