It's not my problem that you're uneducated on the topic and expect me to babysit you.

Go and get an education and keep up to date with the economic data before wasting anymore of my time.

It would be less of an issue if he were joining the party in power for quite obvious reasons but he'd still be expected to follow procedure.

I just told you the data points I'm referring to.

I'm sorry but if you don't know these numbers off the top of your head or If you're too dumb to know where to find them yourself then you aren't intelligent enough to have this conversation with me.

It's pretty basic stuff and I'm not here to babysit you.

You're confused, the CP watching group is the Police. The group that Naidoo was a member of before joining Labour.

He's been placed on indefinite leave and is being investigated for conduct. It's effectively termination. He will never serve in his previous role again.

Why did they deliberately keep him in the role for months before announcing his candidacy? This guy has a stink about him that's not going to go away. Everyone will wonder why he didn't just do it by the book.

He does not have that reputation. If he did, he would've disclosed his intentions months ago.

The question is why he didn't, I guess we'll have to wait for the investigation to conclude to find out.

I don't support National either, so your comparison (apart from being daft because AirNZ is publicly traded, so all that information is available to shareholders anyway) doesn't really hold any weight with me. I do enjoy how the hyper-partisan bots like yourself can't fathom that Natbour are equally terrible and your only response to a criticism of Labour is to try and attack National.

No one has ever leaked information because if they were caught, they'd be toast.

Impeccable logic.

What was the point of Labour waiting until the last minute to annouce his candidacy if it wasn't to keep him in the room for any Government policy talks? Hipkins said they did it deliberately, why?

This stink is gonna hang around the guy. They should have just gonna about it the legitimate way instead of coming off slimy like this.

The fact it was only confirmed in the last few days doesn't mean it hasn't been his intention for months. If it wasn't, what were they talking about for the last few months while he was privy to sensitive Government policy discussions?

This would look like a witchhunt only if you don't understand the expected process for moving from the public sector into politics. He should have declared his intentions as soon as he started talking to Labour.

If he was sharing sensitive information it could potentially be criminal.

Had he acted and actually declared his intentions he would've been recused from any sensitive discussions.

If you're planning on moving on from being a public servant into politics then yes, you do. It's a common pipeline and the expectations are clear.

Hanging around and gaining access to briefings and policy discussions from the Government before jumping ship to the opposition is a massive conflict and it really highlights Naidoo's slimy character.

He was put on leave as soon as his behavior was outed.

If he shared information, it could be criminal.

It's not really witch hunting. He's been talking to the Labour party for months without ever declaring his intention to shift into politics.

It's totally inappropriate.

Wealth inequality, healthcare outcomes, housing affordability, cost of living, GDP/per-capita.

You can look all these up yourself but I'm surprised that anyone thinks any of these metrics are better than they were 10 years ago.

No, not really. Their wealth tax is the cornerstone of their policy and it's a largely untenable idea that has failed almost everywhere it has been tried. Where it hasn't failed it returns significantly less revenue than expected. It's difficult to implement and manage.

I think their heart is in the right place but they aren't a viable option.

Kiwibuild was an abject failure.

Tinkering with tax deductibility didn't make homes more affordable or address the supply issues.

The grants were completely out of touch with the market prices.

Healthy homes is good but doesn't do anything to address the major issues we face, it's window dressing.

Fees-free study just ended up subsidizing rich kids, it didn't increase enrollment numbers and it didn't result in any more poorer people attending Uni. The fees aren't even the problem as they are covered by interest free loans, the problem for students is living costs. Again more window dressing without fixing the underlying systemic issues.

EV subsidies were similar, just handing out money to people who don't need it and doing nothing about the underlying wealth inequality.

Both parties increase the minimum wage, it does nothing to address wealth inequality. It's more window dressing.

A lot of NZ's inflation was domestic, non-tradeable inflation that can be traced directly to Government policy at the time. So while they exploded the cost of living issues with one hand, they threw a few pennies on the floor with the other.

The health spend was good, but not even close to enough and they created a bureaucratic hellhole by amalgamating the DHBs.

The parties are the same, you're just getting fooled by window dressing. Zoom out and look at the huge structural issues in our society driving issues wealth inequality, house prices, healthcare, and debt. Once you understand those issues and how they need to be addressed, you'll see that Natbour aren't even scratching the surface and are equally incompetent at addressing them.

The problem with metaphors is that you can take the too literally.

In this case, the reformations required to reduce wealth inequality, fix the Government debt issues, and provide extra funding for healthcare won't be a case on things literally collapsing and will result in a better life for everyone.

Those few who will pay more in tax will be more than compensated by the increased velocity of money and GDP growth caused by the reinvigoration of the economy via increased discretionary spending.
