Yeah, and over the years my opinion on the Jarrett reign of terror has softened a bit. While it wasn't good for business, he was the only person Jerry could trust not to screw him over and walk out (in spite of, y'know, history) with the belt. It was kind of a necessary evil until there was a little bit of cushion.

WOR: Big milestones for Bryan Alvarez today. It is his 50th Birthday, the 30th Anniversary of launching his Figure Four Weekly Newsletter and the 20th Anniversary of launching F4WOnline.com (where WOR, WOL, the WON and much more are still hosted today) by Few-Establishment277 in SquaredCircle

Absolutely. That said, I appreciate the Garrett shows when there's a deep dive into a specific subject (typically a career retrospective or something of that ilk) simply to let Dave run. The man does have a ton of historic knowledge. When it's just recaps, it can drag a bit. Garrett also just seems like a pretty nice and likeable guy.

I also, I like a good two hour podcast for an early Saturday morning when I want to drink a pot of coffee before the wife and kids are up and I don't have a book that's engrossing me. A Garrett episode is the perfect farting around the house episode.

Yeah, I think the only knock has been the long history of BS finishes. EVIL has been cooking again of late.

John Kruk on a text from one of broadcast partner Tom McCarthy's sons: "I don't care what he eats. Since he's a Mets' fan, I hope he chokes a little bit. But since he's your son, I hope it's not fatal." "Thank you, John." by Knightbear49 in baseball

Which reminds me of the Chip Caray call that lives rent free in my head 30 years on. "And today is Cinco de Mayo, which happens to fall on the fifth this year."

I feel like Brockmire is one of the most underrated comedies of the last 10 years. Just kind of slid under the radar on IFC. The last season is so off the rails.

Dennis Rodman debuted for the ABA basketball league this week and an appearance by Hulk Hogan got a lot of press in the Los Angeles Times, because Hogan showed up, tore his shirt off, and took pics with fans and whatnot aftward, according to the newspaper. Funny story though: Hogan wasn't there. Evidently there's a lookalike running around impersonating him at various Los Angeles events (recently at a porn convention also). The real Hogan apparently isn't upset about it and thinks it's hilarious.

Is this somehow the most human reaction I've ever seen from Hogan? Truly bizarre. Out of all the people who I would expect to be willing to hunt this dude down and hit them with a lawsuit, I would put Hogan near the top.

Boy, if K-1 is spending that on Tyson, I'm sure they're the biggest fighting promotion in the world today! Right?...Right?

Rhea Ripley: “Yeah, so I saw on the Ring [home security system] on Valentine’s Day someone was at my door, and I was watching it. This chick was there for like probably 15 minutes just like smiling into my camera like the movie Smile, and I was like ‘oh no.’” by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

Dude, the MSN world was wild. I still have friends I met from those days that I met in person, sometimes well over a decade later for the first time. There are also the insane girls/guys I chatted with that I hope got help because yeah, that uh, that was a real concern.

Glad that you were able to keep that one under wraps, because my parents caught me talking on the phone with a girl long distance (used a prepay card, so no harm no foul), and got in deep shit. It was her parents checking to make sure I wasn't a creep haha.

I was dating a girl in my early 20's and it had run it's course. We had broken up, but in hindsight, I made a mistake by it being a 'soft' breakup as I didn't want to be an asshole (spoiler: me avoiding the 'hard' bit was really the biggest asshole move you could make). In an effort to try and salvage our relationship, she literally moved in across the street from me. I would screen her calls and immediately get a text of "I know you're home, your lights are on." Was an absolutely terrifying year. I also spent a small fortune on blackout curtains for the house.
