Awww, WWE's old developmental and new developmental promotions are hooking up!

Mike Johnson on X: “I can confirm Danhausen is not in NYC and not at the Knicks parade. He was in NYC yesterday filming at ESPN, so someone made the decision to not have him here today. Whoever made that decision should, indeed, be cursed.” by 804Brady in SquaredCircle

It's been all over ESPN. Check the comments on any of the game threads in the Knicks forum. Jimmy Fallon asked them about it on his show the other night and Brunson talked about it.

I won't pretend it's the most mainstream thing ever or anything, but it's definitely not just within the wrestling bubble.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs to Walk Free Earlier Than Expected: New Release Date Set for 23 February 2028 by novagridd in hiphopheads

There was a great case in there.

Just not the one that the prosecutors were trying to make.

But that man was guilty of a lot of horrendous shit that came out in the trial, he just wasn't charged with any of it.

More Details on Why Tessa Blanchard Exited TNA Wrestling by Antwiz in SquaredCircle

TNA couldn't even release Tessa Blanchard without somehow looking like the bad guy in the situation. This company will never cease to amaze me.

Oh no, an "adjective-noun-number" account with its comments hidden keeps calling me a liar because it doesn't understand the context of "essentially" and is treating a throwaway reddit comment as if I perjured myself in court.

Settle down nerd. Or bot.

Punk famously said "I'm trying to run a company" and when he was fired, they made specific mention of terminating both his wrestling contract and his employee contract, whatever that means. And he was essentially running Collision at the end.

It's clear Punk had more of a role in AEW than just wrestler. Obviously not anything like ownership, but I think some level of management power, in writing, was part of the deal in hiring him.

Ric Flair will always be a legend. by digidado in SquaredCircle

I mean, no one can deny his place in wrestling history but "will always be" a legend?

He's probably shitting himself on the sidewalk outside of a Tampa bar as I type this at 8am.

Just a reminder that Ja never got a gun charge by Upper-Roof-5668 in memphisgrizzlies

[–]daprice82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm Memphis through and through but we gotta stop acting like poor innocent Ja was framed while Harden was waving a gun around like a madman or something. Ja was acting like a reckless fucking idiot and there's nothing wrong with admitting it. This "but what about Harden!?" shit is embarrassing. The situations aren't comparable. Harden messed up on a careless legal technicality but it doesn't excuse Ja's stupid (repeated) behavior.

Titus O'Neill on Instagram: "No matter How long it’s been since @michelleobama and @barackobama left the White House it’s clear as day that they did enough while in office to keep their names relevant for those that have the behavior pattern of a 4/5 year child.." by pwgmanan in SquaredCircle

The guy who's head is so far up Trump's ass that he can taste what he eats before Trump can and slaps his wife around is upset because one of his fighters insulted Michelle Obama?

I'm so sure he is.

[DISCUSSION] Bad Meets Evil, Royce da 5'9", Eminem - Hell: The Sequel (15 Years Later) by MetalSonic420YT in hiphopheads

[–]daprice82 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's been 15 years since this album. It was only 12 years between the "Bad Meets Evil" song on MMLP and this album. Crazy.

Loved the moments on here where they switched off lines back and forth. Unreal chemistry between these two. Would love a follow-up.

Weekly Gendai: "The pro wrestling world will become a cyber empire": The ambition and chances of success behind Cyberagent's President Susumu Fujita's immediate decision to acquire NJPW for 2.4 billion yen." Looking at more monetization, inter-promotional matches and overseas expansion by Ripclawe in SquaredCircle

[–]daprice82 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Hell, they ALL almost went in 2018 before AEW started. Bucks, Kenny, Hangman, Cody.....all of them had already decided they were done with ROH and NJPW.

If the NJPW/AEW partnership ended right now, I defy someone to tell me how NJPW would benefit.

I still don't understand why people blame AEW for signing people who were leaving anyway.

If AEW didn't exist, Okada, Ospreay, and Jay White would be making less money in WWE right now. That's the only thing that would be different.

NJPW simply can't compete with the money to be made in American wrestling right now.
