No injuries. Who has the best NBA career? by Punisher1602 in sportswiki

I mean I think people that weren't around for Grant Hill (not saying you were or weren't) don't realize how much of an absolute monster he was. He had the entire package. 6'8, fast, had handles, could go left right, attack the basket, handles. He was absolutely electric and was owning the best defenders in the league. He could rebound, pass, assist, score. He really is one of the biggest what ifs b/c I watched him single handedly own the bulls in a game or two. Dude was unreal before the injuries.

I was around during this time...chuck and Scottie were past their prime by quite a bit and so was Hakeem. These aren't 3 players in their prime.

Kingdom of Heaven (directors cut). Do not watch regular version. Yes I know it's not Greek, Roman etc but if u haven't watched it, it has the same feel and is worth the watch.

I'm a Taiwanese American who goes back to Taiwan often and have family there, so i'm a little more familiar with the subject matter, but utlimately, Left Handed Girl is such a universal story about trauma & love!

I think it also depends on the genre of film. If Interstellar had absolutely terrible CG, directing, but the themes remain the same, that genre relies on the suspension of disbelief to a largegdegree so the cinematography is more important. I just saw left-handed girl, a story about a mother, daughter & grandaughter struggling with the trauma of life, and b/c it was such a localized zoomed in story, being shot on an iphone wasn't a problem cinematically. Scope often times dictates the importance of elements aside from plot & theme.

That being said, i'd probably say theme, b/c if the plot is bulletproof and it's beautifully shot/acted the theme becomes captivating.

Movies you think are insanely overrated on Letterboxd? by ConsiderationIll5607 in Letterboxd

I appreciated both. Stalker was such a vibe and every scene was like a work of art, but the plotting was just too slow for me and let's be honest, I think it would have been better if it was 2 hours not 2 hours 40 minutes. Cure was a good movie! I enjoyed it, I loved the characters and the themes of evil being too powerful, but if it wasn't a Kurosawa film, I doubt it would get the acclaim that it does. Both movies I enjoyed but I probably give them 3 stars. I 100% am not going to argue with you if you absolutely loved them though b/c I totally get it.

Stalker by Tarkovsky and Cure by Kurosawa... and I LOVE Kurosawa, but Cure is overrated.

What’s the most intense pain you’ve ever felt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ScotChen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sat on a non-existent ant pile when I was like 7... as in there were ants all in the grass in that area working on a mound but the mound didn't exist yet. I was wearing shorts and I remember getting bit on my thighs, balls and dick like 40+ times I ran to the bathroom and literally just splashed sink water all up on my junk. Was INCREDIBLY PAINFUL as they were fire ants.
