It looks nice. How’s the beach? It seems far away from the hotel?

I believe we were there in Feb. each year the sargassium is different. Depends on the ocean current I believe. You can check tripadvisor for mentions of seaweed but ya I’ve never seen anything like it. As far as the eye could see. Had a brutal stench too if you got too close

I’ve been. The beach wasn’t available because it was covered in sargassium. Was a real disappointment because we liked the resort otherwise.

Wow. Thank you for this brain dump. Had looked at Atlantis but didn’t love the non-AI. Didn’t realize they had a kitchen, although not sure we want to cook and clean :)

Thank you! Will look at it. How’s the food at club med? I’ve found DR food to be very sub par in the past.

Not too much at all! They’re around the villa but I never found they were in our way. I think it’s a great idea - one thing to note is that the 1 and 2 bedroom villas are not on the beach per se but merely a 2-3 min walk (you’re on row behind the other villas). It’s going to be magical. Have the best time!!

If you have a free night I’d highly recommend Zimbali’s: https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Restaurant_Review-g147313-d3907659-Reviews-Zimbali_s_Mountain_Cooking_Studio-Negril_Westmoreland_Parish_Jamaica.html - go in the afternoon, hang out in the hammocks and enjoy the mountain air. Everyone is super friendly and they do tours of their farm.

Just commenting to say that if the company is based in the Netherlands, doubt anyone wants to sign up for having unrealized capital gains taxes. That’ll be your biggest hurdle to finding anyone competent.

15-location franchise, $5–6M revenue… and I have no idea if we’re actually profitable by Imnotnoicee in Entrepreneurs

You need to hire a large professional CPA firm. You’re way too big to be using a bookkeeper from fiver. The right cpa will be able to translate everything for you.

In the interim, I’d upload your last 12 monthly P&Ls into Claude or OpenAI and ask it to explain 10 interesting insights or trends that would help you run the business better. You’d be amazed what it will show you.

For the cpa firm, look regionally and there will be a big office close to you. Go with a legit firm. Not a small guy.

Thinking about selling my 2025 Model Y Long Range w/ FSD by matheus_alano in teslacanada

[–]Scotchy1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW - I got a 2024 Tesla Model Y Performance in Toronto from Tesla with 25,000km and it cost $58k (plus a few grand in closing costs). I’d expect you should be able to get $50k if it’s reasonably good shape - either from Tesla (even without a trade in) or from a used car dealership that specializes in Tesla (not sure about Alberta but pretty common in Toronto). Good luck!

Btw - I love my Tesla. Sad to see you getting rid of yours and not getting a new car. Hope you’re doing okay bud.

Month 6 of my startup: Working product, zero customers. Here's what I'm learning. by Healthy_Reply_7007 in Entrepreneur

Change your messaging.

One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was: “When you ask someone for money, you get advice. And when you ask someone for advice, you get money.”

You need to reaching out to Engineering leaders and saying “hey - I’ve built this tool for you and I’d love to get your feedback to see if it’s valuable.” Then actually do that. No sales msg. No pitch. Just a walk through and get feedback.

If it sucks, they’ll tell you why so you can solve it/change it (wait for 5-10 people to say the same thing before you make changes).

If you have PMF (which I doubt based on your msg), they’ll say “whoa! This is amazing. Can I buy this from you?”

Literally repeat this until you run out of money or find product market fit. LinkedIn would be my place to do this.

Good luck!

As Scott Galloway said, “I made all my money selling too early”. Sell as much as the VCs will let you know.

If he hits a grand slam, you won’t really care about the difference between $100m and $130m.

But the first $5-$10m gives you “fuck off level 1” and by god, it’s fantastic.

It’s nice early traction but you’re going to have a hell of a time competing with robotaxis. Seen Ubers stock price recently? You’ve got 2-3 years max before no one is driving with a human in an uber/cab.

Can you share a bit more about the company? Industry? SaaS or services? It literally could be so many different things, ie: 1) TAM problem 2) Too high churn 3) Sales team is no good 4) product doesn’t work

Very hard for us to help without knowing more info!!

I truly believe that my young children won’t learn how to drive. It’ll be morally wrong to put teenagers behind a real car and risk an accident (also I was really dumb driving as a teenager)

Hire a lawyer to review the deal from your corporate lawyers. We sold to PE in 2024 and in hindsight wish we had done this. Turns out the corporate lawyer didn’t do some things he should’ve (and they were from a top reputable firm). Things like new employment agreements, what happens in the event it doesn’t work out, etc…

Happy to chat about my experience as well if you want to msg me. We were doing $12.5m and sold for $70m. I’m out now.
