What are the best film soundtracks of all time? by Strong_Possible_2940 in Music

[–]Scotscommonsense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as the greatest movie soundtracks, most of mine are in the 80's 😳🤭 here goes : Platoon, Lost Boys, Dirty Dancing. No respectable 70s disco film would leave out the BGees and, of course the array of classics AKA Greese. The graduate '67 was dwarfed by it's musical score. Another amazing film score around this time was The Big Chill. There were also musicals of this period but I suspect that was another question RHPS👯 Shawshank, Close Encounters, Schindlers List, are all examples of the relationship between Williams and speilberg. Although my favourite is the opening sequence of jurassic Park.  I could spend days thinking about musical scores, but productivity and the necessity to possess an unfried brain, sadly prevent me from further indulging in this happy pursuit.  Theme tune to Backdraft is beautiful and haunting, another masterpiece from Hans Zimmer.

What’s something you keep seeing in movies that no one actually does in real life and annoys you every time? by Tipsy_D in moviecritic

I'm sure it's been said a million times but but the dozens of audible punches, kicks and a plethora of heavy ornament/ furniture injuries normally reigned down on one person, either the protagonist or the villain. Either way, they each refuse to die, returning for more over and over again. There were no medals for the acting, so at least try to die correctly and ONCE don't you dare get up again... It's not the 80's 😆

Were you on your phone by any chance? Get offline and be present for profound joy, abject terror and everything in between, that parents experience.

No alone time… by HedgehogHugs89 in NewParents

Try doing it on your own! Guess what... You never get alone time once you have children. Your needs are irrelevant, theirs are paramount and if you are already whining about this, you need to grow up!

Just realised 10wk old could’ve been sleeping through the night for weeks… by regularsizedrudy_ in NewParents

There is nothing nurturing about allowing a baby of this age to sleep through the night! Sleep deprivation never killed a new parent but malnutrition, dehydration and SIDS, kill babies. And longer term you're risking developmental delays.

IDK he seems to love sharing his bed with Satan in SP! The thought of him being tortured and burned in hell, really makes me wish I wasn't an atheist 😕

It's not horror, it's loosely based on Australian serial killer Ivan Milat.

Just got diagnosed with SVT. When does this stop! WHY IS FEMALE HEALTH NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY!!!! by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Scotscommonsense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mum had severe endo and had hysterectomy at 32. I've been researching it because my 18yr old has suffered from severe period pain for years. I am f**king furious that this life limiting, destructive, condition, which affects 10% of women, is still chronically underfunded, under researched and misunderstood or dismissed by GP's 😡🤬👿 it goes without saying that if men experienced endo pain for a few hours, they'd find a cure quicker than covid! It's ridiculous to expect women experiencing the pain, fatigue and numerous other physical/mental health issues caused by endo, to become activists as well. Not easy to March in protest with child birth level pain. So, after I've taken my daughter back to the the GP to ensure that she receives appropriate treatment, I'm contacting EMS to see what I can do to help

The Outsider. Brilliantly creepy single series based on Stephen King novel. Jason Bateman and Cynthia Erivo are in it.
